"You Know You're a Fibromite IF....."

Joy, I forget what threads I've posted on too, all the time!    It makes sense, I guess.  I always say I can lose absolutely anything in 2 minutes or less...so why would a memory of what I did earlier today be any exception?

That's funny, my same situation being on Seinfeld.  I'll bet they did it well!  Who was the guilty spacehead who parked the car?    

Ah well.  Onward and upward!

When you get a new batch of silverbeet to replace the old silverbeet bundle (that you'd forgotten to put in the fridge and hence had gone off), and you throw the perfectly good, new silverbeet in the bin and put the old rotten silverbeet in the fridge! Then you open the fridge the next day and wonder what that awful smell is...

When you go to pay for your shopping and are struggling to remember how to put your card in the card machine, when the cashier tells you that you just paid for your shopping and you don't need to pay again!

When you're having a conversation with a friend and you keep finding yourself asking, "Sorry, what was I saying?"

When it seems like pain is continually interrupting your life...

NOt sure if I like these so much because of the humor or because I feel so at home !! No wonder my family thinks I am losing it - no, make that, have lost it.

I have done many of the above -
I value my daytimer - paper.. I have not yet gone electronic - yet.
I still like using an inkpen despite aching fingers, wrists, etc.

I am sadden to think that so many people do not write anything any more & younger generation(s) might never know the beauty of recognizing a loved ones handwriting. Sorry - a personal pet peeve.

My contribution : when I shower I do it in a certain order so I don't forget anything.. wash hair, rinse, put conditioner in & leave it while I soap up my body then rinse, starting with my hair.

Far too often I forget a step.. usually because I think of something while in the shower.. most often am either toweling off or getting dressed & find soapy places. Yuck

I Have To Concentrate To Take A Shower..!! How sad is that ??

I can't hold my pen as well as I used to. I get cramps in my hand and it looks like chicken scratch on the paper.

When the doctor asks if you can do certain movements you have to think for a little because you've forgotten if you can or not.

I agree with you too, Diane. There's a lot to be said for hand-writing.

The other day I was getting ready to leave. Put all my stuff in the passenger seat. Put my little glass shot glass with creamer, and a spoon sticking out of it, on the back of the car for a minute while I walked down the driveway to the mailbox (I was heading to the drive-thru at Starbucks and they always put too much creamer for me, so I bring my own....I'm persnickety about my coffee.) I can't count the number of times I've driven off with my purse or something else on top of the car, but I thought, "Oh, this time I'll be clever! I'll have to pass right by the trunk in 30 seconds when I get into the car! Can't possibly not see it!"

Right?

As I was backing down the driveway, I heard this funny noise. "Hmmm - I wonder what that could be? OH BLAST!" Headed back up the driveway, hoping nobody would drive over it before I could sweep it up. I tried to warn off my nice young next-door neighbor with flailing arms as he drove over it, and there was that sickening popping sound. He walked over, picked up all the pieces of glass and put them into my hands (I can't get down to the ground) as I apologized over and over and offered to pay for his tire to be fixed if need be. I don't really know this guy, and I could tell he didn't know WHAT in blazes to think...

I did: sometimes it just doesn't pay to leave the house!!

I go through tons of shampoo because I never remember. My husband knocked my shampoo down and put it back behind my conditioner. I always put it in front so for who knows how long I was washing the conditioner out and couldn't figure out why my hair was a mess.

My pharmacist has quit asking me my address because I never remember it! I guess that blank look has finally made him realize I'm nuts!

My son plays a bunch of games and expects me to keep track of his passwords. We have to change passwords a lot. Lol

How about my floor only being half vacuumed? I get tired and quit, thinking I'll finish later. Then I wind up vacuuming the same side again.

Yeeah, I understand, Diane. All too well. It is kinda scary sometimes....

Myself, I do try to put everything in the car, too. But it's hard for me to reach the little sunken cup area with my frozen shoulder, so....that's why I did that. Hubby says I should know by now that I'm going to do this, so get the mail another time. He's right, of course.

Angelic, I have to change passwords a lot, too. My daughters finally convinced me that I don't really have to have a different one for each thing. The whole world isn't out to steal my identity. But I still worry about it, of course.

I have not been around much lately due to other health issues..but I really needed that laugh!

Going the wrong way on a road? thank god I live on a peninsula..however, I often shoot past my house and go all the way to the end...when my daughter asks why I tell her I was making sure the other end hadn't sank yet!

Can't remember anything... and I LOVE that my 11 year old knows what charades is now.. and finishes my sentences... a LOT.
Needless to say a conversation betweeen me and my dad (with alzheimers) has been known to make mom reach for alcohol more than once ;)

Thanks for the reminders that I am not the only crazy person in the world...
Oh, and coffee? I keep pouring myself a cup only to remember I can't drink it because of acid reflux and I have switched to tea!!!

good grief... have a great day ladies..perhaps now I can get back to waht I came on the puter for in the first place..if I could remember what that was....

Also I wanted to add a tip here... I also have shoulder issues & despise the dinky drink holder in my car..
For years my 'second purse' has been a lunch box size insulated lunch bag.. the square kind w/ shoulder strap..
Usually mine has either frozen or hot drink or bottle water.. with room for an order of fries (my occasional treat).

Use to keep a small plastic dishpan in car but 'upgraded'

This has saved my car seat from many potential spills as well as more than a couple of real spills!! And maintains beverage temp while in dr appt or shopping..

Today I left home w/one bottle of cool water & 1 frozen, 2 'sticks' of cheese & a handful of nuts which probably saved me $10 (as opposed to take out / sodas etc)

Now it woulda been even better if I HAD NOT GOTTEN SOMEWHAT LOST going somewhere I thought I could have driven to in my sleep.. giggle.

I know....I think we keep hoping that they will actually listen this time...without prejudgment. That would be a happy day.

When I get lost driving in a neighborhood that I've been driving in for the past 3 years. When I go to bed for the night before my 11 year old dog does. LOL

When the Teenager says "why is the icecubes in the fridge" or your other half saying "honey I found the cell phone charger in the fridge" or your other half's nephew saying he found cell phone on the rats cage after I inform the other half the cell phone is charging...and he comes back with the tv remote trying to charge on the cell phone charger or when someone finds the home telephone in the frying pan on the stove. When you nearly fall on your tush just for trying to do the dishes. Last night my man found the sheets and pillow cases in the bathroom instead of towels! The towels were as you guessed, in our closet. When you call your mother because everyone else is at school or working and you can't find your cell phone, and you call your mother from your cell phone because she's long distance. Still haven't lived it down. When you lose your eye glasses and your looking high and low and your other half says "babe their on your head" ohh I can go on and on
