Hi, Stephanie, and welcome! You are welcome to post in any of the forums on HealingWell. I see you have chronic pain and also arthritis and we have forums for that, too, if you think some days it's the arthritis that is affecting you. It's good to visit all the forums that concern your health because you can learn things on each one of the forums.
We focus on fibromyalgia and the all over, weird pain we can have....not to mention the fibro fog. There is a good thread...Fibro 101...at the top of the page that is filled with links to good info about fibro and you can learn a lot there. Also our posts are filled with information as to what helps each of us. Unfortunately, with fibro, what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. It's a trial and error process to find what helps us control the pain.
AK Angel has a point about the heavy duty medications. They can cause more pain in some people. I didn't get into those. I did try Vicodin and then Tramadol but neither touched the pain I was having so I stopped taking these things. I now use ibuprofen with food, Tylenol, magnesium malate, vitamin D3, and a prescription muscle relaxer called Robaxin that helps me greatly. I also keep moving since sitting and laying too long can make you stiff as a board and have more pain. I walk and/or swim daily as my daily form of gentle exercise and I do stretches throughout the day and that helps, too. I also pace myself when doing things. Everything does get done but in a different time frame.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
