Sunrise, Sunset

My siglings and I each have 1 daughter and at least 2 sons. My younger sister's daughter had her first baby this past Wed. They live down in VA, so I haven't had a chance to see her personally, but in the pictures she is just gorgeous. Even more importantly, she and her new mother are healthy and doing well.

It was such joyous news, everyone was just glowing about the addition.

My older sister had her b/d yesterday, she turned 76. I was going to visit her and share another b/d w/ my big sister. I planned some cupcakes and ice cream - her favorites. A cpl of hrs before I planned to leave, my nephew/godson called to tell me his sister died. This niece was my big sister's daughter.

To say I was stunned is an understatement. My beautiful niece has been living AND suffering w/ Lupus for over 20 yrs. I just can't believe there is a world w/o this woman. Everything just shut down on her.

This is the second time a sibling of mine has lost a child. All of the sibs have been close to their nieces & nephews, so we all feel the losses tremendously. We are all godparents to each others' children.

My niece leaves behind her husband of 20 yrs, two wonderful daughters - 16 and 9, her mother, 2 brothers and all the rest of us.

If I may, I would ask if you could keep my darling girl and her family in your prayers.

I'm very happy about the newest edition to your family, though.  Your subject line is so true.  At least the little bably can bring some joy to help with all the saddness.

Stacey, I don't believe we've met before, so let me welcome you to the family. I agree, no mother should lose her child. I don't know how you go on. Thank you for your prayers.

Robin, my friend, I hope you are doing well. You are always in my prayers. I believe both my parents, plus her own wonderful father were at Heaven's Gate to bring her in. They all loved her dearly. It seems in our family, that when we lose a family menber, a new life joins us. I am very grateful for our new little girl.

Diznyfrk, I'm so glad you joined the family, sorry we haven't met before now. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts for my family. That means a lot to me.

Joy, thank you. Yes, she was one of the good ones. She was very strong in all the good ways. I think ppl w/ Lupus have to be strong. I know you and Robin are very strong ladies.

Sherrine, I can't imagine the pain your poor aunt went thru. God bless her in Heaven. My sister has faced many things in her life and always faced them w/ grace. I have always admired her strength and faith. We are happy about our new little love, too. I think she will be like the other 'girls' in this family - strong. I thank you for your prayers, my friend. And know that I'm thinking of you w/ prayers at this time, also.

Debbie, Thank you so much for your prayers. Each of my nieces and nephews lived w/ us when I was home w/ my parents. So altho they are my nieces and nephews, we were raised more like brothers & sisters. My sister will be remembering a funny story about her DD, and when we are laughing, we also start to cry. I'm sure the stories will be that way for a long time.

My niece was laid to rest today, a beautiful summer-like day. We all laughed that she would have been in the pool. My heart is very wounded right now, but I felt your goodness through your words and it gives me strength. I thank you w/ all my heart.
