Hi all,I was doing pretty good there for awhile and now it's like I am starting all over again.

For starters went on a trip to Florida (driving) and still can't seem to get back to feeling like I slept a little.
Now the other day I was resting in my chair and I felt what I can only describe to be light electricity going from my hands to my shoulders and to my head. Making me unable to clear my mind then it got intense and was gone.
Anyone else have this happen?
I am going to my regular doc soon to talk about anxiety its been really bad lately with my hubby loosing his unemployment and no one wanting to hire me for more hours cause of my fibro.

so I am stressing there and we had 4 deaths in the family and friends in the last 2 weeks.

My heart feels like its going to pound out of my chest.
So going to doc to talk about that and have to call my ruemy doc about the jolts.

I had that happen before but didn't think anything of it but when it happened again I thought Oh no I DON'T like this!

Fibro mom I haven't had jolts of electricity through me, but I have constant numbness. Sorry to hear about your family loss and your financial situation. Yes, anxiety and stress will climb during a loss and. Financial issues. Do you have an outlet such as a therapist or a pastor?
I sometimes will take walks, listen to music and read postive scriptures during my own issues.

I hope your husband can find a job soon. That is one thing about Alaska there are tons of jobs here. People are moving here all the time because of the good jobs.

Fibro mom, I am so sorry for your losses. I can understand what a difficult time this is for you.

I know exactly what you are referring to. I often referred to it as a feeling like fire is going through my veins. At the time, I didn't know I had Fibro and my primary doctor looked at me like I had grown two horns on my head. Needless to say, he wasn't familiar with Fibro. After reading these forums, I have found others describing this feeling. It has to do with the nerves in your body. I find what helps me is Gabapentin.

Yes. I get what I call brain zaps in my head. Feels like electrical currents, very painful but short lived ( thank goodness) Really annoying. It was the reason they initally thought I had MS. Fibro is a wonderously strange disease. We all have our "cross to bear" with it on some days.

My Neurologist has no answer for it. He just tells me I have fibromyalgia, and treats me for my symptoms. I do find it interesting tho that neurologist's are beginning to treat/diagnose the disease. I guess some truth to it being "all in our head". LOL...

Sometime it feels like I'm on an electric fence from shoulder right to the finger tips.

During the worst day of cycles my whole body is shaking, felt undeniably when I lay down to sleep.

Other times isolated areas have felt like they were being zapped, then they were numb for up to a few months.

My "zaps" started in my feet and legs, and the other day was the first time I got them in my head..just 2x, like quick lightning flashes...and you are right, didn't like it ONE BIT!!!!
Very scary, and something I will talk to the doc about when I go on Firday.

Hi fibro-mom,

First I would look at your meds. Those are potential side-effects.
This sounds neurological and both meds you are using affect neurotransmitters.

Sometmes going through the "change" can cause what women describe as electrical zaps. It is all related to nerves.
