Earaches with fibromyalgia?

I'm not sure. I've never had a earache due to fibro.
Have you see and ENT?

Add me to the list! I too get random earaches that have no apparent reason behind them. I never associated it with my fibro....

I'm not sure why mine are caused by. I just know that the left ear stings off and on. I will talk to my doctor next time I see him.

MRI on Friday. Still trying to rule things out.

I had sudden hearing loss and have spasm deep in the ear that feels like sharp shooting pain or deep aching pain. I also have L sided tinnitus.
My ENT years ago told me that what I ate would affect my ears.
Consider a food allergy.
I have not had this pain since I adopted a low histamine diet. I am also gluten free.
Please see my post on histamine and mast cells and also consider a gluten free diet if you have not already seriously tested it.
Cow's milk products can also be a problem for some people, basically a reaction to the casein protein. (Recently a clinical study revealed that cow's milk protein was found to cause constipation in people who are allergic to it -- not like lactose intolerance which tends to cause diarrhea.)

I have pain on the left side of my body.  I have pressure base of skull, my ear does hurt and not like an ear infection.  pain from sharp, burning, and buzzing like white noise on a TV.  I was told I had Fibro over 10yrs ago + thought it was a catch phrase when dr didn't know what is wrong.  I have been to so many dr's My RA states yes you do have Fibro and.....   So the Ear Pain is from what???    

I get random sharp pains in my ears - could be either one - sometimes just one shooting pain, sometimes several within a few minutes or over the course of a day. Also moderate hearing loss.

I'm new to fibro (newly diagnosed but the diagnosis sure seems to answer a lot of questions I've had over the course of many years). As I read about the experiences of the people here, I find myself nodding my head over and over again as I can relate to so much of it.

Add me to the list of those who get occasional sharp ear pains....and have moderate hearing loss, too.  Oh, and the cold bothering my ears - absolutely.  And any wind, cold or not. 

But if this has been going on for awhile and is really bothersome, I'd sure get to a doctor about it. Was the MRI you had done of the ear area? Be sure to let us know the result!

Yes, I agree - - these groups are great. Where else can you rant about all your strange symptoms that are really bothering you, but seem to make no sense?

The waxing and waning of symptoms that change day by day, hour by hour and even minute by minute is what makes uninformed doctors think it's all in our heads.

I've had fibromyalgia symptoms for nearly 20 years. I have improved greatly in the past year by paying more attention to my gut and playing with diet. I had already gone gluten free and yeast free years ago but recently found I needed to eliminate all foods high in histamine. This made a huge difference in many symptoms.

I don't think it's the cure, but it sure feels great to be half normal. For many years when I was at my worst, I felt like I was slowly dying. There is hope!

I read a lot online, mostly medical journal articles and clinical research studies and more and more, research is pointing to the gut as the source or origin of Fibromyalgia. I believe mine definitely had a gut origin.

Look up microbiome or gut bacteria + fibromyalgia online and you'll see a lot of research linking small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and bacterial endotoxins (by-products of bad gut flora) to Fibromyalgia.

Perhaps this explains why new symptoms keep cropping up the longer one has this, new "allergies", worse immune function, more skin pain and hypersensitivity, and all the rest. And why symptoms wax and wane and change constantly. Each person has a different microbiome, and depending on which bacteria is overgrown, each person's gut would release slightly different endotoxins, which could account for why some have more pain, some have more of this symptom or that, and no two people experience Fibro exactly the same.

SIBO is best treated with rifaximin or rifampin, two very powerful antibiotics that stay in the gut and aren't absorbed systemically. I'm thinking about asking my doctor for a trial ... but what might be safer is to get a fecal transplant. Yes, seriously. They are doing them for c. difficile with about a 95% success rate. I've heard some doctors are trying them with Crohn's and there's talk about doing them for IBS, but that's not available yet. It sounds gross, but the fecal bacteria is purified so that only the fecal strains are used and not the waste. Also a doctor in Canada is using the fecal bacteria in pills, so you don't have to have a colonoscopy to implant it or an enema.
At Mayo Clinic they say people with c. difficile come in, have the treatment, and leave the next day cured.
