I have had so many things wrong with me besides fibro it scares me an make my anxiety go up and me worry worry. I have had this pain above my right boob goes to top joint that connects to my arm into my arm pit around to my shoulder blades left side is not as bad. but I get on the net and check it out and then things pop up and I end up freaking out!! I wont even google the rest of symptoms now I got my nerves a mess. sorry just had to vent. regular dr tomara!

Scared and confused no one to talk to or no one who understands!!! smhair

I rarely look up symptoms for that reason. So many of our symptoms can look like other diseases or other diagnoses. The best way is go to the Dr. if you feel like you need to be seen. Otherwise your just causing yourself stress which you sure don't need. I am a retired nurse and I still don't go looking because I know what would happen.

Maybe you can start to break a habit from looking so much. Good luck!

It's so pointless, unless it stays there constantly for over a week - only then would I freak out and call my doctor. Our pain comes and goes and often is not related to anything medically wrong, just our body/mind playing tricks on us.

Dr. Google got ya, huh? That's a really good way to raise anxiety levels and also cause stress which makes your pain worse. But I don't think I need to tell you that. I only use the Internet to search for alternative help for illnesses...not to find out what is wrong with me. I go to my doctor when I'm concerned about a health issue. That really is the best way to go. Once I know what I'm dealing with then I look on the Internet for things that can help me.

Also, a lot of what you read on the Internet isn't accurate. Some people get on there like they are authorities and can frighten the daylights out of you!

Now, I'm not a doctor but I did have something similar...I think. In my case it affected how I moved my arm. I couldn't raise my arm without a lot of pain. I couldn't reach behind my back, either, and if I reached for something I would get a shooting pain in my arm. Is this happening to you?

If so, it could be trigger points that are causing this problem. I did go to my doctor about it and he wanted to give me a cortisone shot in my shoulder but I declined since I try to avoid cortisone...and pain. LOL I have The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook so I looked up the area of pain and found where the trigger points were. I massaged them daily while watching TV, working the muscles, and now my arm is totally perfect again.

Press on your chest above your breast. Is it tender? If so, wiggle your fingers along that muscle that goes up to the top of your shoulder. You will probably feel a little knot/s that are very tender. Those are trigger points. Press on them as hard as you can stand and then massage that area. Repeat several times and each time it should feel a little better. (I learned this technique from my massage therapist.) You will have to do this several times a day until you don't hurt there anymore. There are trigger points that affect the arm in the neck, top of the shoulder, and also over the shoulder. The book I mentioned has diagrams that show you exactly where to look for the trigger points.

I've used this book for other pain...like in my side. The trigger points for that were actually in my back since a lot of our pain is referred pain. If you are interested in this book, it isn't expensive and you can find it in book stores but I bought mine on Amazon. Amazon lets you read a few pages so you get an idea if you want to purchase it.

I hope this is what your problem is because it is easily taken care of.

thank u everyone I stopped getting on there for a while then when this came I don't know why but I got on net. my left side does it sometimes no bad tho I get it underneath my breast to. I went to dr today he was new took over for my regular dr I told him about it but nothing really else was said it is worse at some times then others I is about an inch and half if not alittle more from my colar bone but above right breast. I am having all new blood work done. I have bad anxiety anyway so I know that shouldn't google. I am very interested in the book. Thanks again ( hugs) to all.

Dr. Google can freak you out. Especially if you have medical anxiety like me.
My theory is if it's hurting longer than normal or more intense then I go talk to the doctor.

it hurts but sometimes not as much as others it really hurt this morning while I was trying to sleep I am going to start documenting things and tracking it. Thank u for your kind words and help
