Nisha, that sounds just awful. I'm so sorry. I hope you get your diagnosis fully clarified so you can take a course of action. There is no need to stay in pain. Maybe look at the food sensitivity elimination diet as a way to try to get your stomach settled. Have you had an mri?

Oh Nisha I am so sorry.

Well, you are fighting for your life, and it's so terrifying when the enemy is unknown and unseen. Believe me I understand. It took me many years and a few blind alleys until I found the proper specialists. It was very difficult. But you are fortunate in that so much more is understood now and if you "just" have fibro, there are many effective coping techniques that will help you get your life back.

This is a wonderful forum, and there is a ton of great information in the very thoughtfully put together "Fibromyalgia 101" thread. It takes a bit of concentration to read it but take your time, that's what I am doing!

I'm so proud of you for eating paleo! You're really taking a step in the right direction. I've been 90% paleo again since early January, and I was feeling so much better.

Some of the things that helped me early on were:

A good clean diet such as paleo, and the allergy elimination diet

Gentle stretching and water aerobics. Life saving.

Acupuncture.

Positive affirmations. "I will not let this thing destroy me." "I will do everything in my power to get better".

Massage therapy, and salt baths. Spa days.

Pain and sleep support with a qualified professional.

Since being diagnosed I have traveled all over the world, mainly to tropical ports of call, produced several great radio shows, made a ton of money for my stations, and have had so many wonderful experiences with friends and family.

It can be done.

I swear by the Bali Comfort Revolution wire-free bras. I've worn an underwire all my life (even before I needed one) and had to stop about a year ago because the wire felt like it was digging into my ribs all day. The Bali ones come in underwire or non-underwire, soft cup or slightly padded for "modesty" and have about two dozen colors. The straps are wide and soft (non-adjustable, so no little fiddly bits to dig in, either).

I can't imagine going without a bra even walking around the house. My breasts are not huge, but are very dense (I joked with the radiologist who told me that I'd always known they were stupid...she didn't get it) and are very heavy, so without a bra to support them, my back hurts and my breasts hurt. I sleep without one, but it's one of the first articles of clothing that goes on. Oh, and shoes (or slippers), even in the house. I can't walk across a non-carpeted floor in my bare or sock feet. Agony!

Wearing bras is too painful, I dread it. I started to use my stomach support tube from my c-section. I pull it up over the girls like a tube-top. It's a great soft support not pushing or strapping anything. Works great. I am a construction Forman so it's not possible to have "headlights" at work even if I would feel the best without snything.

It's always great to have others validate our pain, especially in situations like that where they start off with the "nonsense" response to our issues. I have a lot of problems with bras too, I don't know how much of it is Fibro and how much is just the neck/ upper back issues that I have. I feel like bras aggravate those latter issues just making everything feel worse.

I forgot to mention, the bra cami's I wear are from Roaman's, also found on the onestopplus.com website.

Because of house guests for the past three days I had to wear my "good" bra for most of the day. Last night I started getting spasms in my ribs from it. I still have some mild ones going on today.
