Is wearing a bra painful for anyone else?

Oddly, bras don't bother me...and I wear an underwire (mostly cotton-ish.) Almost everything else does, though! I'm ultra-picky about the right material, loose fit, you name it - but I've lucked out there. Of course, it does take forever to find one that fits right (34C) and that I can bring myself to spring for....because I hate paying much for anything.

That doesn't mean it doesn't feel good to take it off at night, but I never think of it until then. Now changing from shoes to slippers - that's my moment of, "Aaaah!" smilewinkgrin

You're right about everything else bothering you! It does me too. That is since the Fibro stuff started. Shoes that I once wore now kill my feet so I only have maybe 4 pair that I can wear. I can't stand anything tight feeling because I feel like I can't breathe. And you are so right about the type of material. I hadn't really thought about it until you said that but I've gotten more picky about the type of material that I wear too. It seems like nothing feels like it used too.

I don't wear underwear or a bra around the house because they're too tight fitting. I wear loose pajama shorts under my sweat pants and a tank top under my t-shirt.

I too bought a Genie bra. I could get it on okay but had to have the help of my husband to get it off. I mean you've got to pull it over your head and I am stiff and achy most of the time so it's difficult to get something that tight up and over your head. Once I got it on it wasn't too bad except that I felt like I had no support plus it's as thin as paper so you know what that means.....beaming headlights even in broad daylight!

I agree on the not wanting to spend too much. I shop at Goodwill a lot and the only thing that I do pay regular price for on clothing is underwear and bras. We happen to have 2 great Goodwill stores near us that are clean and well organized. I know a lot of people look down upon 'second hand stores' as they call them but I think it's smart shopping and I'm not ashamed because our household is down to one income thanks to this illness. Anyway, why go out and pay $40 for a new blouse when you can pay $5 for it at the Goodwill store.

I love second-hand stores, too! I used to buy most of my clothes there. The only thing that limits me now is that it's hard to pull the clothes on the racks apart, they've got them packed in so tight. That really hurts my muscles. I can only do that a few times before I just have to walk away.

So now I mostly stick to the household stuff, which is also fun :)

The bra I found that works best if also from Walmart and it is Fruit of the Loom. I love it, so comfy. No wires but it still supports size 42D.

Been wearing the Genie bra as well as a knock off version of it.
Not enough support but much better than nothing.. have to have the cotton tank top under it or any mild irritation turns into a hhmm rash develops

Been shopping second hand/ thrift stores hhmm at least 30 yr - sometimes they have new-still-with-tags or in-original-packaging items.
