I think fibro can be a result of trauma or injury, but does not necessarily have to be. Until we have a firm understanding of what the condition is, exactly, then we can start to learn the conditions under which it begins. There are just too many variables, otherwise, that are anecdotal.
We all, including normal people, have accidents, illnesses, emotional traumas. It is part of living that, sometimes, people get hurt both emotionally and/or physically. Some develop a long-term illness from this event--others do not.
Correlation is not always causation. In other words, just because two events happen near one another in time, does not mean that one causes the other.
Mine is genetic, I am fairly sure. My father would have been diagnosed, had it been an option. My older sister had fibro, my older brother has symptoms but has not been diagnosed. His son is starting to develop some symptoms. His daughter has celiac. ALL of us have medication sensitivity, gastro problems, allergies of various sorts.
