Soreness and pain all over, but major pain seems to move...

So I have soreness an pain all over, but the last couple of weeks I have noticed that certain parts of my body have more pain than others. Two weeks ago it was my right leg and my shoulders. This week beginning Saturday I have serious pain in my whole left arm and my right shoulder. Is it normal for the intense pain to move to different areas?

I wonder the same thing. My pain seems to jump from one place to the next almost daily. The other day I was dringin and notice on both side of my knees it felt so sore like I had bruises on both side of both of my knees. The following day it was fine. My pain is in different parts of my body daily. I do notice that the mornings are best for me. By the time evening hits I am hurting in one place or another.

Yes, this happens to me, too. It usually happens out of the blue, too! But fibro waxes and wanes so you know you will feel better in that area eventually. For three years I would have a toe on one of my feet hurt like the dickens....in the winter only. AND it was a different toe each year. turn Go figure! At first my doctor thought it was gout but that was eventually ruled out. Fibro is really weird.

BUT if you get bad pains that don't leave or if your pain gets progressively worse, then do see your doctor. Not everything is caused by fibro. My back pain got progressively worse and my legs joined in the party a few years ago. Since I knew fibro isn't a progressive illness I went to see a rheumatologist. I found out I also had another problem that causes bad back pain and was put on proper medication and I'm sooo much better now. So don't blame fibro for everything. It's so easy to do.

In the
Ffirst years of fibro, my pain moved around, and crawled right up from my ankles to my knees, my hips, but at the same time my neck and upper arms were hurting. In the past few years, my pain seems to have settled with the worse pain being in my upper arms. Everything hurts now somewhat. My knees are wrecked to arthritis so I can't count that pain as fibro pain, but the rest of my body is a dull pain most of the time. My arms kind of scream with pain a good deal of the time.
I am grateful that fibro is not a progressive illness. I am in the same dance of many of you, trying to find the right meds and having the self discipline to do exercise and eat right.
I believe that fibro teaches you to be a better, more compassionate person, if you will let it.

Yes, my pain moves around a lot, and some areas are worse than others.

A couple of years ago, I had severe pain in my upper right arm. Since it went on and on, I had an MRI done and found it wasn't due to fibro; it was supraspinatus tendonitis in my shoulder (surprised me, since the pain was lower, on my arm). It did gradually go away, but I was glad I had it checked out as it didn't fit the 'usual' fibro symptoms and the pain seemed much worse.

Right now it's cold, damp, and windy, and boy, is my body ever unhappy. :( But the good news is that 'this, too, shall pass' or at least the aches and pains will move to another area--somewhere on me. :)

And yayyyy.....warmer weather next week (I sure hope so!).

And, welcome to the forum, SaMac85! Sorry you have to deal with fibro, but happy to meet you.
