Inner tremors / shaking?

I have that, when I am either overtired or have overdone. It is visible to others periodically, but most times it's not discernible. For instance, I overdid at the gym on Wednesday, and for the past two days people have been noticing.

It feels like a minor electric current.

I've never really noticed internal tremors so much, or maybe just forgot if I had them! But quite often I find my hands in a slight tremor, and once in a while, my head will slightly shake.

Myself 09 mentioned it feels like a minor electric current, which reminded me...since you were diagnosed with fibro, have you found that a static electricity type of shock seems (almost overly) strong?

 I use metal bowls at times when I'm cooking at the stove, and if I happen to touch one of them and something else like a pan at the same time, I can get some incredibly strong electric shocks. I don't recall that ever happening before fibro hit me.  It's almost like the electricity "jumps."

Welcome! Yes, I have this feeling a lot...pretty much all the time in my legs and feet. I also get it in my arms when I've somehow overdone it. I don't really mind that much unless it crosses the line into pain, which it often does in my left leg.

Have you noticed "Fibro 101," first thread on the list? It's got a symptom list, plus lots of other great reading. I can't remember if this inner shivering feeling is on that list, but it might well be....that list is so long!

I'm glad you landed here...we really do care, and we understand. Hope you'll stick around and post more.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. For me it's always there and that's what kind of worries me a bit.

I did check out the Fibro 101 list of symptoms but didn't see this mentioned. Did see the paresthesia (numbness/tingling - which I have as well) mentioned but this is slightly different.

For the person who mentioned it was like a minor electric current - that's exactly how it feels in my feet 24/7. Could it really be the muscles creating that feeling? It's been non-stop since it started about a month ago.

The quivering/tremors sensation can be in the legs, arms, chest, head all depending. The fact that it never goes away is a bit disturbing. It doesn't flare up if I over-do it, it's always there, though worse after out for a walk or an Epsom salt bath and worse at night.

I wish I knew what would make it go away. My rheumatologist just nodded when I mentioned it to her.

As to the static electricity, I haven't encountered it yet but will pay attn next time it happens.

I went through a period of shaking too. I am on depokote a small dose and it seem to stop them. My hands use to shake a lot so hard it was difficult to use a mouse for the computer. The fibro symptoms are crazy!

I also have the inner vibrations and shaking- it is totally from the central nervous system - if it were originated in the muscle they would fatigue and stop

Hi, I'm new here & this was the first thread that caught my eye.

Yes - it feels like an electrical current. I have this too, and I don't know if it's related to Fibro or not. I had it for years, & didn't realize it was unusual for a long time. I also have a tremor, but to me it seems like a much different thing.

I saw a neurologist for my tremor, and I take primidone for that. I also have some other medical conditions, & take a couple of other meds that, among other things, are anti-convulsants (i.e. they're used for seizures). I had a period last year when money was extremely tight, and I had to do without those meds for a few months. During that time, this symptom came back in full force, and it was one of the most annoying things I dealt with.

My financial situation is more stable, so I don't have to worry about missing those meds anymore. But the co-pay to see a neurologist again is something I can do without, so long as the symptom isn't bothering me, which it isn't.

I'd definitely recommend seeing a neuro. about it. There are some seizure-type disorders that don't fit what we usually think of when we hear the term, and I expect the right medication can get rid of the annoying sensation.

I have the internal tremors in my head. It is worse when I am stressed out or have anxiety. I began seeing a neurologist a few months ago and he put me on gabapentin (neurontin) and it has helped alot. I couldn't sleep well because I really noticed it when resting but now I am sleeping.

I really got no answer why I have tremors, but I did look it up on line. I put the question in. Why do fibromyalgia patients have tremors? Got some answers and more info. There are great reading materials out there on fibro.

Unless your tremors are causing you havoc I wouldn't recommend taking a drug such as mine to stop them. They have so many side effects. I really take mine to prevent seizures and it just happen to knock off the tremors.

Hi, I am new to this group. I have had Fibro & 14 other illnesses for 18 years now. The inner tremors are different from the muscle spasms in your arms. legs etc. We all have too much substance P in our brains. That is why we are so sensitive to pain etc. The inner tremors according to Dr. Ziem who is a renowned Physician in studying chronic diseases, comes from the brain. She states that if you take 3 magnesium pills a day, one at breakfast, one at lunch, and one at dinner, the inner tremors will stop. Dr. Ziem states that most of us get the tremors when we wake up, shortly after eating breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some people also get dizzy and fell sick to their stomach. I do not get sick to my stomach, but sometimes I get dizzy. Dr. Ziem says this is because of digestive problems. So, if you take the magnesium pills, that will help it. However, just remember, that the spasms you have with the legs, arms etc. are from your muscles, not your brain. That is different. I hope I have helped you. And if your doctor tells you the tremors are from anxiety, please let him or her know it is not that. :)

Propranerolo (a brand of old school BP med) is also used for essential tremor of hands , head ect. It works.

I had this for the first time last week after being sick. It was like my inner body was hooked up to electricity. A very weird feeling. It went away over the weekend, and seemed to be tied to the flare I had going on. I take Magnesium on a regular basis.

I also shock things easily and have had a blue arc between myself and light switches before. Just another weird symptom :)
