Results of long term health agent(vent)

What a severe anxiety day it was!! The long term agent came to my house. It was all taped recorded and my husband was there too. As he started reading the questions I got this gut insight that they have been investigated me outside my home. I could just could tell where he was going with it. I had nothing to hide, but I still was anxious. He started asking me about things I do outside my home. I could tell because he mention things I have done like raking and washing the car. I never said I couldn't do things such as this. This was before I injured my back.

I tried not to show my anxiety, but he pulled out a stack of papers where apparently an private investigator was observing me and following me. Where I really got upset and crying after they left was they followed me to church. They asked me how long and how much I go to church. I told them and said it differs what goes on. I explained church was my place of peace and I go to prayer a lot. He asked me on Feb. 18 on a Sunday say, why were you at church fom 9am -1pm. Then they followed me where I do bible study with a friend at a different church on Tuesday morning. We see they have a day care. Where you working there?I said No! I never been back there and don't work.

I didn't mind to get looked on, but come to my church! I feel my church is my safe place from the world. This has really set off my PTSD. I don't trust people. I told my husband before hand what these people do is to twist anything to find errors so they can cancell your policy. I know social security at least allows you to function in life and not this bad. I am surprised they have let me keep this long term this long. I would of thought I would of lost it once I got social security. I think I got lost in there paper work and I haven't herd from them very long time.

So yes, I am venting for sure. They even took a picture of my purse. Sometimes I do make unsafe choices due to my brain issue. At this point I wish they would cancel my policy. I don't lie, but sometimes it's hard to remember certain detailed things. I think they followed me with my daughter shopping. They had her make of car and asked me do I go shopping. Thanks for an open ear! Now to anxiously wait for the outcome.

 So sorry you had such a miserable visit w/ that agent. You certainly do need to vent!!!

 I have SSD, but not LTD, my DH has both - but what a fight it was to get the LTD. They truly don't seem to want to pay the monthly amt, even tho you pay for this ins for yrs.

 We fought for it for quite awhile, bc our pcp wouldn't confirm my DH was totally disabled. It was a nightmare for close to a yr.

 While we haven't had any agents come to the house, we do get phone calls, followed by paperwork that MUST be filled out w/i so many days or we will lose the LTD. I'm sure we will continue to get this nonsense for the next few yrs till the LTD runs out.

 Is there anyway your drs could write a report for you? You haven't said you are 'unable to do anything', but you certainly have enough health issues that you aren't able to hold a pt or ft job.

 I found it creepy about them following you to your Church, too. That is most certainly a place of peace and prayer, you should be able to go there to calm your mind w/o having to answer to anyone.

 I hate to see you give up benefits you worked for and paid for - pls see if any of your drs will help you if the outcome isn't favorable. If necessary, also contact your atty.

 My DH gets LTD & SSD, they just subtract the amt of LTD from the SSD amt until the LTD contract runs out in a few yrs. Then he will get that same amt, but just from SSD. You can get both together. One of their agents should have given you a date (month & yr) for when the LTD finishes up. We were told a cpl of yrs ago when it terminates.

 I will keep you in my prayers for a positive outcome - and I hope it comes soon.

I agree with the others' advice and don't have much to add.

Yes, I would think one of your best advocates would be your doctor or doctors.  There's no way anyone could realistically know what you can or cannot do; fibro is just incredibly unpredictable and varies sometimes by the hour.

Sheesh, Angel, what they did to you is just terrible. I am sorry you had to endure that. It is like being followed by the Gestapo. You have done nothing wrong, and your privacy has been invaded. If you can report them, you should. Please know that you can take comfort in the fact that you are completely above board and in the right. Sending comfort your way,
