Hi, Moosie. Nice to meet you! I've been on Meloxicam for several yrs. I haven't had any problems w it at all. My rheumy has me on 1 tablet per day, I don't take it everyday. He is aware of that. I also have hydro, but I use that even more sparingly. Mostly for 'bone' pain. Lol Most times I go to Advil for my pains. Basically, all the meds, Advil included, make me sleepy, so I only take them at bedtime.
Your idea of getting a rheumy is an excellent idea. It's a good idea to ask the office if the dr believes in Fibromyalgia, as some drs still don't 'get it'. Sadly, I've met a few. ☹️
I don't know if you were directed to the top of the Fibro page, but up in those stickies are some wonderful articles. Lots of good information.
I'm extremely sensitive to many meds, so I really try to avoid them as much as possible. I take a hot shower in the evening to relax my back, neck and all those other stiff, unpleasant parts. lol I like to work in my garden, hang my clothes on the line, walk my 'puppies', etc. I start out w gentle stretching in the morning before I even get out of bed. I keep a bottle of water w me at all times, as I tend to get so involved, I forget to stop and get a drink. I dehydrate quickly. Not good for my body in general, nor my kidneys in particular.
I try to break my 'jobs' into 20 minute intervals. This reminds me to stop, stretch and walk, get some water, rest if necessary. This is hard for me, as I'm a person who has always believed, I'll rest when I'm done! lol
I'm truly sorry you are in so much pain. I do hope you can get an appt w a rheumy soon and they can begin to help you. It is miserable to be in so much pain.
Pls keep posting and let us know how you are doing.
God bless. Alice.
