My Doctor gave a prescript
ion for Tramadol when I came off Lyrica and was not doing so well. He gave it to me as I was going on a short trip. He told me when I need to take the med to lay down for a rest after. I find I usually don't need a whole lot of meds. I cut some in half to try first. I did not know if I would have unwanted side effects and it is hard to get medical care away from home. While I didn't really feel much better I was able to finish the day so maybe it helped some. He will not provide this med on a regular basis but I don't think it can be effective when taken sporadically. Our Doctors are being more careful when prescribing pain meds but my N.P. said they do not want people to suffer.
We all would like to feel as normal and as pain free as reasonably possible.
The need for anti-inflammatories is a difficult one. I have been on NSAIDs for 12 years. Wonder if Curcumin, purchased at a Health Food Store, would be easier on your stomach. It is supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties.
My muscle relaxer, Baclofen, does help some. I take some at lunch time and at bedtime. I have taken extra at lunch at times to get through the day better. I read of one muscle relaxer that had some good reviews. I think it was called Skelaxin. It was not yet available in Canada.
