What's your favorite Fibro "tool"?

Acheybody had a great post about her reacher, and it got me thinking and wondering what "tool" others rely on?
For me, the thing I can't do without is a heating pad. I love the aromatherapy ones that you can microwave. Also, this great gel called Volcano Oil that I got online, worked so much better for me than biofreeze.

My The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook helps me a lot. I also love my roll on Sombra that is all natural. It helps me a lot more than Biofreeze, too, plus my hands don't get gunked up. LOL

But my greatest "tool", which isn't a tool, is my mind. I focus on the positive things going on in my life and this puts my pain on the back burner.

Hubby purchased an electric blanket that is so soft! Turn the heat up and sweat out my flares. Then there's always the Salonpas patches, and my big water waster garden tub filled with Mr. Teal's lavender Epsom salt. I need that now!! tongue Gotta try Sombra, I use roll on bio freeze. I'll try anything and everything thanks for tips y'all!

Bengay rub, heating pads, hot showers, reacher, cane, braces, Austrialian Dream, automatic jar opener, and of course my Lazyboy. ;-)

Tools for making housework easier, swiffer on a stick, scrungy on a stick saves your back while scrubbing tub or shower, the reacher saves time going up and down a stepstool..

For fibro...the best two topicals i use are pain erase, and soothanol x2..heating pad , acupressure pad, laser touch one, gentle exercise.
The light relief product helps me..occassional physical therapy and acupuncture..supplements...

My best "tool" is my memory foam matress and tons of down pillows, and knowing that I have a massage appointment once a month!
I also have an extra large heating pad and an Origins lavender filled bean bag thing that you can microwave for very comforting heat and pressure.

My mom gave me an electric heated neck massager. It gets really itchy if I leave it on too long,but in little bursts it really helps with neck pain. My skullcandy headphones come in a close second though. Some soft music helps with migraines and they are great.

A happy face wooden ball with for legs with smaller ball feet... Works great on my neck and straight up down the spine muscles.

"Squishy" pillow that goes under my neck,and "Squooshy" pillow that goes under my left elbow. And my moist heating pad (no,I didn't name it)!

I have to say I totally agree with the memory foam mattress, only thing is that it's made traveling suck because no other mattress compares. I so wish we had a big "water waster garden tub". I do love my nightly baths. Epson salt is one thing I can't be without. Another thing for me is my Kindle, it makes reading so much easier, I just can't hold the books anymore (they get so heavy). Also, Dragonspeak (voice dictation software) for when my shoulders / arms are really bothering me, let's me keep writing.

I couldn't sleep on memory foam because I couldn't roll over! I was stuck...like the person in that commercial. LOL

I have a pillow top mattress with a foam egg crate on top of that and a fiber bed on top of that! A fiber bed is like a feather bed but you can wash it. This combination gives me the back support I definitely need and the softness to take away the Princess and the Pea effect.

When I bought the fiber bed, I cut my memory foam topper in half, since I had a king size one. I thought my two cats and my dog would like the memory foam side of the bed. Well all of us are on the fiber bed side! LOL. Picky, picky pets!

It's funny how we are all so different!

Hi everyone:

The one thing I can't do without is my pillow. It is called "en V y" (envy with a capital V). The pillow is made in Canada. I needed a pillow to take on vacations. I bought my pillow at a spa. I bought the Travel size. You can buy it in a regular size also. It is not too small so I use it at home too. I used to use a very firm memory foam pillow that was not great for travel. It became rather uncomfortable. This new pillow lets me sleep. It is made of anti-allergen memory foam. It will last about 5 years. It rolls up and comes with a satin bag. It is called an "anti-aging / wellness pillow". It is good for people with TMJ.

I use grabbers a lot. I found some in Dollar stores. I also use a dust pan with a long handle. I have one for inside and one for outside. I love "Swiffers". Can't be without an electric can opener. My reclining love seat is a must. I have heat wraps and ice packs. I have certain beverage glasses that are easy to hold in my hands. Have a number of "Good Grip" utensils.

Epsom salts. I buy them in bulk, and add essential oils to fit my needs--energizing, relaxing, sleep promotion, whatever.

I sleep on a soft-side water bed. It is amazing good for my aches and pains. Also, a big plus is that in winter, the mattress is heated, which is so very nice on a cold-winter night.

My favorites are:

sleep aids--ambien to get to sleep, gabapentin to stay asleep and Prozac to increase serotonin-low dose of all
three

pacing myself--resting before and after any activity, mental or physical

fodmap diet

sombra--works wonderfully well for pain

exercise--whether I want to or not

I like traumeel natural cream for the tight muscles in my back and neck. Also my microwave heated bed buddies and my back buddy cane for trigger points.

Memory foam bed (fake tempurpedic), heating pad and far infrared dry sauna. Only wish all the help aids kept the pains away, and were not just temporary...

My favorite tools are my new memory foam I comfort bed. It's wonderful! The next best thing is my hot tub outside on 104. Then my heating blanket with a heating pad on my back. Then I couldn't live without my subutex for pain.
