First off hi my name is BenJamin. You may call me Ben for short. I am new here. I am 32 years old and just a few months ago i was told i have Fibromyalgia.
My story might be kind of long but here it goes: Growing up i always had stomach issues and my legs would hurt all the time. I was told it was growing pains but it never went away. I also had sleep apena and mental handicaps (other words i was in the special ed classes in school).
Fast foward to almost three years ago. My wife Shallen who has Bi Polar and i had only been married one month when she had her first bi polar attack that i had seen. about
a month and a half later i begin to show real bad depperssion and anxiety. I went to the doctor and i got taken off of work for six weeks. I begin to show a bit better after those six weeks.
March of 2013 my mom got sick and we had to move her in. During that time my depperssion and anxienty begin to worsen. Around the same time from the summer before i had another attack and had to leave work for six weeks again.
During that time my mom had just started going to a program called ACT. My wife goes there as well. I could not afford to go there cause of insurance. So i had to cut back my hours from 40 to 30. I had to lose my insurance to get real help. I was put on a few different meds. Non seem to help. My wife and i wrote down a list of all my problems (and there was a lot) and my Physiatrists told us it sounded like i had Fibromyalgia. My skin sometimes felt like someone was ripping it off. I selpt almost 20 hours a day at times. My back and legs would hurt all the time. My wife asked me why i had never talked about
it before that. I told her i am a guy. We are not supposed to talk about
our pain. We are supposed to take care of our famlies.
My Physiatrists gave me some information to take home and go over. If i score high it looked like i would have it. He already believe 100 percent i had it.
That evening i was working and around 6 my back begain to hurt real bad. I almost fell to the floor and i felt like i was going to throw up. I went and sat down for a few minutes and i began to fell a little bit better so i got went back to work. Thirty minutes later it rehit me again. This time not only did my back feel like it was on fire but my legs and arms we're hurting really bad and i felt like i had just gotten out of the gym and on top of that had been in a car wreck. I could barley talk so i had my wife come and get me. I could barley walk to the car i was so bad.
A few weeks later i had another one. That one cost me my job. My boss gave me two options one stay at work and only work now 10 hours a week or leave. I had been working there in retail for 13 years but i could not do it anymore. So i left my job back in August.
Since then one my real bad days i can't get off the bed. I look up and any kind of light hurts my head so bad i want to scream. I feel like i have the flu all the time. My body won't stop shaking sometimes and i have real bad spasming. When i lay down at night i have to take two or three baths just to make my legs feel better so i can sleep but a lot of times it won't work. When i lay down my legs not only hurt really bad but that won't stop shaking. My back often hurts really bad as well and i am begin to realize i might have IBM as well. I am trying to get on SSI cause i can't handle work like i used to.
But that is my story. Thanks for reading
