Yes I also have problems with dental visits. The taste when they drill, the constant noise, and the tensing up because I am unable to relax while the dentist is working.
I had a filling once and had excruciating pain in my right jaw while they were working on the left side of my mouth. I was exhausted after that visit and was literally falling asleep in the passenger seat on the way home, and that's the first and only time in my life I've ever went to sleep in a car (have never before been able to even when trying on long trips in the early morning or late at night).
The next time I had to have a filling I was really anxious about
the jaw pain. When it started I tried to force myself to relax. I realized then that I was clamping down on the guard holding my mouth
open so tightly it was like I was trying to bite it in half. I slightly relaxed my jaw and the pain went away.
Having fibro sure makes some things harder.
P.S. Yes I also have problems with the lips feeling pinched and it being painful, it's another thing that gives me anxiety before dental visits.
