A gentleman's post was deleted this morning probably because he mentioned a specific product.

I have had itchy skin that began on my back for over twenty years. It can be debilitating. What I have been doing is making sure I use a healthy unscented bath soap which I order online plus twice a day I apply a 90 some percent aloe vera gel.

Even though I drink a lot of water and don't seem to have dryness, my skin drinks up the moisture. I have my husband apply the aloe vera to my back. All of this helps but it doesn't take it away.

Then there is not wearing itchy fabrics or lying on itchy sheets. I love cotton.

The gentleman's post was deleted because it was spam. I didn't delete any post but all mods can delete and ban people for spam in any of the forums. It's for your protection. There are a lot of snake oil salesmen out there that would LOVE to lighten your wallet. Plus advertising in forums is a cheap way to promote their product. That's not allowed on HealingWell.

We are NOT that picky on HealingWell. We can mention a product that helps us...just as long as we aren't selling or really promoting it and you don't include a link that is selling the product. I've mentioned several things myself.

I'm not sure why you mentioned this to begin with!

Sometimes spammers don't have a link but post in several different forums. That isn't allowed. Usually the spammers have just joined HealingWell too.

I have mentioned an all-natural topical pain reliever called Sombra. It comes in a roll on and doesn't smell like Ben Gay. You can find it on Amazon and other sites. I keep a roll on on my nightstand and I don't even have to get out of bed to use it.

I've mentioned The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook many times too.

This, Almost, is acceptible. I'm not selling it or promoting it but I have used it and it helps me a lot and I want to share this information with other members.

I can't get out of the shower without getting an extremely itchy spot somewhere, usually on my back....I've mentioned it to my dermatologist and he just shrugs and says, "non-specific dermatitis." Last summer, I had these much bigger, bright red dots that circled my ankle for a couple of weeks. I took a picture of them and showed it to him, and he still didn't know what it was. Man, did that itch!!

But he did give me a prescription for some hydrocortisone gel, stronger than you can get over the counter. It really helps - I just dab a tiny bit wherever I need it.

Ok i have super sensitive skin also and use dove, unscented for sensitive skin...i do not work for them, but its a great soap!

I love Alveno Itchy Skin Relief. It helps my dry skin itching.

I use unscented Everyday Shea Body Wash ordered from Swanson. It's a large pump bottle so it's easy to use in the shower.

Because my scalp is itchy too I use a natural shampoo by Nature's Gate called biotin shampoo.

Whenever I shower I get super itchy! I have to take 50 benadryl before showering and still get some little itchy. I'm using the dove sensitive. Does anyone else have this? It started so month of two ago and is driving me crazy. I also take Oct allergy pill daily.

Calen, what Temperature is your water? You may be needing to take a cooler shower. Some people experience a type of allergy to warm/hot showers. I can't remember what's it called though.

Wow, a lot of us are sensitive skinned. I am too. I put coconut oil on my skin before I shower. The hot water helps a lot of it penetrate my skin. I use body wash with shea in it and also a body cream afterward that has the shea in it. I also take coconut oil. It keeps my skin hydrated but I still can't get a sun tan in the summer. I pretty much avoid the sun anymore. Just want enough for the vitamin D... Ha!!!

I itch and I know it's not psychological because that is what my BA is in. I also break out in rashes for no reason. My skin is highly sensitive... Pain, rashes, and dry skin.

Lostpuppy, what is your BA?

I dealt with eczema for a while. It was horrible. I'm finding keeping my skin hydrated twice a day with aloe vera jelly and not using regular soaps is helping.

What is a micro stab? I'm curious.

Speaking of stab - does anybody's post-shower itch feel like 10,000 tiny knives stabbing you? Mine does. It's an itch but it feels like an ant bite too. I loathe it. I typically will stay in my towel and sit on the couch trying to focus on something else (reading the forum, for instance), and it usually takes about twenty minutes to subside.

I now get shower anxiety. True story!!

Had you gone anywhere with long grass before that? It could have been chiggers. Went to a friends place out in the country once and got chiggers. Bunch of little red dots around my ankles that itched like crazy!!!! Didn't have funds to go to a doc, so did the nail polish trick and that got rid of the little buggers after a few days, but the itch stayed for awhile.

But I also get random stabbing itches all the time. Feels like I just got bit or stung, but when I look, there's nothing there. Those hang around for about 10-20mins then go away, till the next spot hits a few hrs later.
