I have seen a chiro a few times. He is really good, takes ex-rays, locates the issues and presents a plan before he starts. I couldn't turn my neck before he adjusted me, now it feels much better and I have mobility again. After the first round of treatments, I have only had to go back once about a year later. I have taken other members of my family and he has made a great deal of positive outcomes with them.
I think you just need to find one that is reputable and make sure you feel comfortable with it.
I do get sore the day after an adjustment, but after a day or two, I feel so much better and the pain is lessened quite a bit. If your skeletal system is out of alignment, it will pull on your tendons and muscles to the point where they cannot relax.
Also, I was going to a massage therapist at the same time, I told her what was going on with my skeletal and what adjustments the chiro was making and she was able to help the healing process move along faster with her techniques.
