Has anyone any knowledge of a possible connection between herpes and fibromyalgia? I've had FM for many years but was recently told I have herpes....any knowledge would help...thanks

There has been a lot of studies into the connection between Fibro and Herpes. There is one doctor at the UA of that has found a large incidence of herpes in the stomachs of those wtih Fibro. Herpes affects the nerves so it really makes a lot of sense that it could cause a lot of the nerve pain that we feel.

Great link. Sure wish they would hurry up as it sounds very promising. Nearly everyone has simplex-1 herpes and the theory in the article makes a lot of sense to me.

That's part of the problem. The blisters showed up on my c-section scar and not my genitalia or thighs or buttocks. When I asked the MD about the type of Herpes, she wasn't sure so I asked them to send me the test results and then made an appointment for more info. I had a cold sore on my mouth twice in my life, I'm in my sixties and have only had two sexual partners....my husbands. The fatigue is really hard to cope with

This article is fantastic and gave me a lot of hope....for a professor and a surgeon to come up with this drug combo and see a relation between FM and HSV-1 is astounding. It's so encouraging to know there are so many dedicated health care professionals who are looking for new ways of helping us. Thank you so much for posting that link......it gave me hope which has been in short supply around here lately!!!!! Libbsis

Did you search on google or wikipedia for details about what is herpes and treatments? It may help you. Use keywords "herpes" "type 1 or type 2". Hope this can help you with full details.
