Park car in garage at library. Get out, taking purse, bag of books, keys and parking validation ticket. Lock door. Brain starts to think of to-do list.
Start to walk towards library. Brain on auto-pilot. Realize I do not have keys. Go back to car, retrieve keys from the top of the trunk, and resume walking.
Stop again, realize I do not remember where I put the parking ticket. I usually put it in my back pocket, but I had no pockets. I stopped in the middle of the deck, and started looking through my purse. A car was waiting for me to get out of the way and I finally realized I had to move. I went back to car, set stuff on trunk again, and went through the two bags. Nope. No ticket. I looked back over the area I had walked over now four times. No ticket. I looked around under cars, in case wind had carried it somewhere.
I realized I couldn't really see. It was dark in the parking deck. I go to car, remove the teeny flashlight I have there, and locked car again. Used the flashlight to look under cars. Nope.
Went back to my car, unlocked the door (again) and started looking under the seats, under the mats, between the seats. On the dash, between the cushions on the seats. Looked in the back seat. Nothing. I scratched my head and considered just getting another ticket. I retraced my steps yet again. Slowly this time.
Finally, I found the validation ticket on the rear driver's side floor, lying flush against a small box I keep back there to transport plants or anything messy.
Wow.

Fibro fog---the gift that keeps on giving (I speak for myself here--'myself' being me, not Myself 09!).
Hope the rest of the day is great and makes up for a questionable start! Have a good weekend, too. :)

Wow is right! I've had days like that and it makes me wonder what my brain cells are up to. It's really frustrating when we used to have a great memory. I hope you day improved.

I have had those as well. Sometimes it seems like nothing goes right.

I drove off with a flat of tomatoes on the roof of my car. It's the only thing I bought. Set them on the roof...unlocked the car door and took off. Totally excellent.

I was driving back from the big city and was thinking "this is a long road, why haven't I reached my turn off yet".
I drove a little further and realized I had already done the turn off and was on my second road off my path home.
I had forgotten that I had just turned off no more than five minutes before. Ugh.

Even worse is telling your cashier that your total can't possibly be correct and is too high ... then realizing you've completely forgotten about
a couple extra items you grabbed and the total is indeed correct. Very embarassing
