I used to get this too. Try an ice pack or heating pad on your head. Sometimes it helps.

Have you been tested for the herpes family? This is likely herpes induced allodynia (and feels similar to shingles, I think). I get is across my face, it starts at one eye and travels across my face. Feels like sandy fire. Hate it!

My scalp will hurt at times to put a brush to it or a comb or to even wash it. It is not constant but does happen.

Hi, Jasflower! I also have scalp pain. Sometimes it feels as if it is the hair follicles other times it feels like bruising. Hope you have relief from this symptom soon.

I get scalp pain too....but mine is nerve pain. I get burning sensations that travel around my scalp. The good thing is that it doesn't last long. I might feel it burning for a few seconds at a time a few times a day once in a while. For me it is tense muscles putting pressure on my occipital nerves. It also causes eye pain. One of the fun symptoms that started when I developed Fibromyalgia.

Jasflower, it's also really annoying lol. Yes, it is a strange sensation cause you just don't expect to hurt on your head, too. Gosh darn fibro. Hope you find relief fr it. Hugs to you...
