Had never had a problem. After a super stressful summer, in November 2014, I woke up with numbness/tingling/prickling/rubber bands popping down my arms and hands. Got on 300 mg gabapentin in February (2 to 3 times per day). It helped. But my neck was really bad too. There are two spots in the back of my neck that when I press on, it shoots a trail of pain over my head and hurts in my eyes. Tried Mobic and then Naproxin for the inflammation. Hands were huge, hot and swollen. Back of head, neck area feels full of water and under great pressure. Knee starting hurting terribly and toes went numb. Cervical spine xray showed a "little degeneration but still had disc space". A nerve conduction study revealed severe carpel tunnel and hand surgeon was ready to schedule the surgery. A sinus dr put me on a week of steroids and stupidly scheduled me for an MRI during the same week. During that week of steroids, hands problem disappeared completely and I quit taking gabapentin. The MRI showed nothing noteworthy, just like the xray. So dumb...the steroids settled everything down, including my neck. So now the hand pain is back, and I'm taking gabapentin again. Also taking Flexeril as my shoulders feel like 200 pounds is sitting on each one. Can't turn my head. Driving is probably dangerous. Thought it was rheumatoid arthritis at first cause every bone in my body hurt. Not any more (just some bones still hurt). Knee hurts so badly sometimes I think I may just need to sit down. This just cycles through my body and I feel awful. Is this the nature of fibro?
