Hi Sherrine,
Thanks for your helpful words. We normally have the air conditioner running at 73 during the day and turn it down at 5 p.m. to 70 degrees so I can sleep. But last night, probably due to increased heat and humidity, it didn't get down to 71 until 1 a.m. I fell asleep at 3:00 and woke up at 5:00. Tonight I will probably sleep very well. But there's a problem, I just checked the thermostat and the unit isn't keeping up. It's 72 degrees in here.
Today I had the air conditioner running at 70 degrees all day to see if it can stay there. I'm wearing slacks and when I go outdoors I change into shorts. We even keep our blinds closed.
We did have an air conditioning guy come over about
a week after it was installed and he said everything was fine after we told him about
the issue. We're thinking the problem is that there may be no insulation on the exterior walls and our condo faces southwest. Plus we're on the third floor and the condo on the first floor is unoccupied.
Our air conditioning unit is located in a closet. If we were to put in a larger unit we would have to tear up some walls. We were careful to select the most powerful unit we could fit in there.
Thanks again.
