Lots of pain and fatigue with new meds

My doctor changed me from fluoxetine to lexapro and prescribed cipro for folliculitis. I started both of those last Friday and since then I've been in a lot more pain and extremely fatigued, sleeping 12+ hours a day. I though maybe it was side effects from the lexapro plus the change in weather but now I'm wondering if either the lexapro isn't working like the fluoxetine did or the cipro is doing it all somehow. Anyone have experience with this? I'm supposed to start topamax on Friday and can't see doing so until I figure this out.

The Lexapro can take six to eight weeks to reach full potential. So be patient with that. I am not familiar with Cipro. But the Lexapro probably isn't doing anything yet. And if this is a side effect by any chance, it may take a week or two to subside.

Cipro is a strong antibiotic. I took it for a month one time when I had a prostate infection. It can cause lots of side effects and I remember some were pretty strange, including getting a severe sunburn when being outside for just a bit. IMO, fatigue is from Cipro.

Moving from one SSRI to another shouldn't cause too many issues, IMO. It makes complete sense to me to move to lexapro from prozac. I take celexa which basically the same thing and am happy with it and have zero side effects.

My doc said that the lexapro and fluoxetine are similar enough that I could switch directly to a higher dose of lexapro without tapering off of the fluoxetine. I didn't have any brain zaps like I get when I missed a dose of fluoxetine so apparently the switch was fine in that respect. I've been on cipro many times and don't remember having fatigue issues. The last few times I was on it I was also in a flare so maybe it just wasn't apparent. I was more awake yesterday but was completely drained by bedtime and I didn't really do anything all day. Today was back to the sleeping. I guess I'll just start the topamax tomorrow and see what happens.
