Hi Everyone,

I had my anual visit with my rheumatologist a couple days ago and she gave me some free samples of meds to try:  Duexis and Vimovo. It was interesting to see when I looked them up on Drugs.com both of the descriptions mentioned stomach acid. I do have gerd. I take the generic of Zantac. I mentioned this was the one med I was taking. I'm going to do a little research and see if these are okay to take together.

Has anyone tried these meds? Did you have side effects? Did they help you?

I have been on Meloxicam for a very long time and it's really not working well for me any longer. My Doctor gave me a sample of Duexis and it DID help. I slept better and had less pain during the day. However, getting this med on my insurance was not financially feasible for me, so I let him know that and he gave me samples of Vimova. I've only had one but not sure it is going to work as well as the Duexis. He did feel that he could get me on a program with the company to get them for free though so I'm looking into this.

I have had stomach issues since I was young and raised my concerns with him about it. He said that with the coating it should not affect my stomach at all. So far so good.

I take several medications (some long term, some short term), and I always check for interactions using the drugs.com or rxlist.com drug interaction checkers. They also have pill identifiers if you want to double check that you have the right medication (for instance if your pharmacy changed manufacturers and the pill looks different).

Our doctors and pharmacists are pretty good at catching interactions, but I'm a firm believer that I'm ultimately responsible for double checking it myself.

I take duexis. It's good stuff great if you have a sensitive stomach .. And calms my pain... Luckily my insurance covers it... I found out that is cost 700.00 .... It's basically ibprofren combined with something else to keep your stomach from getting tore up
