Is the lyrica medication work well for pain though.

I am thinking about trying out the lyrica medication since I am having a lot of side effects from the one I'm taking for awhile. I don't like how the gabapentin makes me tired for most of the time though. It doesn't really help me with pain though. How is your experience with lyrica like though. Does it help you with pain. Or does it have less side effect than other ones. I want to know more about what kind of side effect you usually get from it. Thanks.

Hi asiangal555: I tried Lyrica some years ago, but had to stop, as it bothered my stomach. But I think some others here have had more success with it.

Sometimes when I'm curious how a medication works for others here on this forum, I type in the medication name in the Search box (above). Lots of threads will come up, and it should help you see how other HealingWell members felt about the medication, both pros and cons.

I do have the gerd condition. Did you get a lot of acid reflux from taking lyrica though. Can you tell me about it. I am not sure if I can handle the medication if it will cause more acid reflux to me ya. Thanks.

No, I never have had a problem with GERD or acid reflux. Lyrica just didn't seem to agree with my stomach, and I felt a little nauseous.

Hopefully someone else here will post if they, too, had a problem with acid reflux.

I was on lyrica (pregablin) for years. I wasn't taking much, only 50 mg daily, and it still had unbearable side effects, the worst being that I could not remember anything. My concentration was totally missing. That was during the days I was working. I'm now retired for the past two months. Gabapentin (neurotin) has the same effect on me. On occasion I will take a 100 mg capsule when the moderate to tormenting burning in my arms and legs acts up.

I took it for about 3 months and it made me nauseous. So I switched back to Gabapentin.

I take the full fibro dose, 150 mg three times a day. I does help a bit with pain but mostly with the fatigue, at least in my experience. Oh, and side effects. Had some eye bluryness the first year or so. I've been on it now for three or so years. No side effects other than maybe some slight sleepiness.

Does anyone know how long you have to take the lyrica medication for it to start helping with the pain though. I really need to try it out maybe it will help me ya. Thanks.
