Great advice from MelW11 and Sherrine!
I would only add that it's easy to think "what if..." but it helps me to remind myself that I only have the very moment I'm in---nothing else. I had a rather nasty and long dental procedure yesterday and had to take my own advice on that. It worked. :)
When I have a physical concern that goes on, I go to the doctor, take any good advice they have or any meds that may help or exercise, etc. and move on.
Hobbies, pets, or doing anything fun can be a good diversion, too.
You might want to check out Dr. Claire Weekes' books on anxiety and related. They're older, but your library and/or Amazon should have them. Very down-to-earth and easy advice.
Best wishes!!
