A new symptom :(

Hello it's been a while since I've posted anything....well just recently out of no where my jaw started to hurt me.. So I kept pressing on it.. Well this was a month ago and my salivary gland is swollen my by my ear and down my chin it's very sensitive when I touch the side of my face then tge pain radiates down my neck. I do have tmj but it feels like something else is going on I went to ent dr. And he checked out my neck and doesn't seem concerned. And I went back again told him that it hurts but still not ordering a test. .. Well anyway my primary is ordering mri. So has this ever happen to you? Thanks

Hi Jasflower: I'm currently reading a book on Sjogrens Syndrome, and what you mentioned sounded familiar. It may be totally unrelated, but swelling of the salivary gland is mentioned occasionally in this book.

Have you had any doctor mention a possible connection? If nothing shows on the MRI, maybe you could see a rheumatologist to rule out Sjogrens. Just an idea. I hope you get answers soon.

P.S. Especially when I was younger, I would sometimes get swollen glands which seem related to my sinus infections/issues.

Yeah, it sounds like you have a blocked salivary gland and maybe an infection. I think you should lose the doc who told you there was nothing wrong.
