Yesterday, I could feel a flare coming on all day; it was almost like individual cells were "turning on" the fibro. Here we go.....

This isn't anything new to me. When the weather changes, especially when it cools this time of year, my body is in full-blown rebel mode! I had a somewhat "wimpy" day but did get a few things accomplished.

This morning, I had a round of sneezes. I get this occasionally, either before or after eating breakfast. I always tell my husband I'm allergic to mornings, LOL! turn

I've always had a hunch this is related to fibro, especially when it's active like during a flare or when a flare is coming on. Allergy testing is very expensive, and this is only occasional and not really a big issue, but I do think there's a connection to my sneezing and fibro. I did have allergy testing years ago, but nothing specific showed on the tests.

In searching "fibromyalgia and sneezing," a few articles came up. Just wondering if anyone else has occasional sneezing fits that seem to have no rhyme or reason! confused

I do but I think it’s pollen in the air, or maybe dust. Pepper does it to me every time! It doesn’t take much to tickle the nose and get sneezing started.

When I cough, I end up sneezing...five times! 😂. My mother and one of my daughters do too...sneeze five times after coughing! Neither of them have fibro. Weird things happen and fibro gets the blame most of the time.

Thanks for the reply, Sherrine. With the wild flowers blooming like crazy near our house, pollen could certainly be a key issue. And living on a gravel road, and being a bit behind on my dusting (just a bit behind--ha ha), there is plenty of dust.

Pepper gets me every time, too. It takes about a minute or so before a major sneeze ensues. I think that one big sneeze cleans out my sinuses, practically!

So true: it's easy to blame fibro for so many things. But it can be so mean to us, that maybe it deserves it, eh? cool

We all know there are plenty of things fibro does cause. But it can be dangerous if you are having more serious symptoms to blame things on fibro. We had a member who had migraines and also some mild chest pain. She ignored it and ended up with a stroke and a heart attack. So this is why I always tell members to check with their doctors when new symptoms pop up.

But I think you are safe with a sneeze. 😁. Pollen can be a big culprit. I have PLENTY of dust around too. And a gravel road isn’t helping matters either! So you have a whole lot of things you can choose from...lucky you! 😂

Hi luvs,

I have had more sneezing in the mornings, no idea why..might be a little more dusty , i put vacuuming the furniture on the weekend list 😳

I was not relating it to fibro, but who knows..i for sure am allergic to mornimgs 😉

Good point, Sherrine, about serious symptoms sometimes being blamed on fibro. I think we all have to learn to gradually get to "know" our bodies and what's normal for them and what is not. Yes--it can be dangerous to blame serious symptoms on fibro--could be tragic.

Funny--yesterday a Fed Ex driver dropped off a package here and actually apologized for the dust on it--LOL! I told him it was fine and we have no shortage of dust here. smile

Thanks also for the replies, Lj and wayup. Lj--glad it's not just me sneezing in the mornings! wayup--yes, one more thing to consider. I really should study up more about mast cells. Been meaning to, but you know how it is.
