Me? A troublemaker? Widdle ole me??? Sue, Marlee is getting up in age and doesn't remember all the kind, sweet things I have done for her. Take pity on the old broad....uh, lady!
Sue, I have posted to you before but I know it's hard to remember when all of us greet a newbie! I am very glad you joined us and we can help give good advice to help with your pain. Also, we have a wonderful depression forum on HealingWell and you may get some help over there too! See? We've got you covered! We will help to lift your spirits!
I do understand about colitis. I had that for many years. I have Crohn's disease and I would have to run to the bathroom about 25 times a day. That sure isn't fun.
What medications are you on? Maybe some of the meds are causing your problem. Also, I know I had to watch what I ate when I was having a flare of colitis. I could NOT eat fresh fruits and veggies. But, I could eat canned fruits and vegetables...but not corn and peas. I also avoided canned pineapple since it was so "fibery" and acidic. I couldn't eat acidic and spicy food either. No hot sauce, and I'd limit my tomato consumption, too. You might try altering your diet and see if that helps. You also could get some ideas on the Irritable Bowel Syndrome forum on HealingWell.
I do agree about getting outside. That is important. You are "imprisoning" yourself in your own home. That's not good. Get out and look at the beauty all around you. It helps to put things in perspective. The worrying does nothing but cause anxiety which can make your pain worse. Worrying has NEVER solved a single thing. It just makes you miserable.
Do keep moving. That is wonderful for fibromyalgia. It helps to keep the muscles flexible. Have you had a chance to read the Fibro 101 thread yet? If not, you may want to. There are links to some good info about fibro and there is a link to some good stretching exercises that will help you, too.
Meanwhile, I hope you start to feel better and I also hope to hear more from you soon.
