malic acid fog and depression

I looked for malic acid at the store today and they didn't have it.  they had a different kind of acid and I thought to come here and ask you, but now I cannot remember what it was.  It started with an A and was next to the acidolphilus (sp?). 

I think the fog and depression go together.  Do any of you find that?  I think they seem to feed off each other.  I am worried about the fog because I start school again in a couple of weeks and need to be able to think!  I am sposed to be a smart graduate student and will have to teach section for cognitive psych! 

Oh, and my nurse said fibro is not progressive.  At least that is what I think she said.  Is that correct?  If I have a mild case of it, can I expect for it to stay mild?

Hey there! I am on malic acid/magnesium for about a week now. I could not find it and took the advice of people here and found it on Pilgrims Pride website. I can relate to your thinking that fatigue, depression and FB fog could be related. It is true that FM is technically not progressive, but as I have had it explained to me, much like auto-immune issues, FM can attack wherever it wants to, whenever it wants to. So progressive? Maybe not. Debilitating to anywhere in the body it wants to rest? Yes. There are many others on this forum who have more years of experiences with this disorder than I. Perhaps they can chime in on this important question. Its as if we are asking a new "chicken and the egg" question- which came first: disorientation/aphasia/short term memory loss, OR fibro fog? Are they one and the same? Thoughts, anyone?

The notion the fibro is not progressive is written by people who do NOT have fibro...lol. That's what the 'literature' says about fibro but I beg to differ. I get worse and worse and the years go by. And as I look back to when this all started it was little by little that it built up. to the intensity it is today.

As for the malic acid...Puritan seems to be the best place to find it. You can bang around the health food stores and I believe I saw it at wallyworld one time, but Puritan is easy to use, fast and best price.
