Ever feel like you can't get a break

I start doing well and then mom goes in for test and we find out that mom has Breast Cancer, okay she has operation and is fine and now I get told by my oldest daughter her youngest son has PDD with HD and may have fragile x syndrome. Her middle son is slightly Austic and since both her oldest and middle son were adopted out due to her stupidness I'll have to get ahold of their case worker on Monday.

How much blame can I put on myself, my youngest child, which is a boy from what I read on Autism could have been missed dx as to having Austim and fragil x syndrome because alot of what I read. I need to find out he's 25, then my middle daughter has TM. My son has been dx as to having bi-polar. But he never sees the same dr cause he moves so much.

Today I have fever of 100 and headache from you know where.

Hi Roni, I'm sorry you have been going through so much. It never seems to end. My niece has a friend that went through the testing when she was pregnant with both of her boys for the fragile x gene. She was lucky that neither one has it. She has a brother with it so she knew she was a carrier.

 

I'm glad your mom is okay. That had to be stressful.

 

You know I think every family has some kind of stressful situation going on at all times. I know mine does, we have had more than our share over the years. The only way to get away from it is to cut all ties and bury your head in the sand somewhere or change how you react to the stress. The later is the one I am working on and it's not easy when loved ones are hurting or you have a situation that is breaking your heart and you can't change it. I know my body does not react normally to stress and obviously neither does yours. We can't change the past so we have to let ourselves off the hook. We can't predict the future so no sense in worrying about it. It all comes back to the same prayer of "God give me the strength to change the things I can and accept the things I can't change". I've been working on this and I do believe I am making some progress.

 

So Roni we can't change life and it's going to happen whether we have fibro or not but we can analyse a situation and chose how we are going to react to it.
