Lyrica headaches, bedwetting,

Hi eveyone,  I started taking Lyrica about a month ago, and everyday I wake up with a bad headache.  It seems like it usually goes away after I get up for the day, although today it is hanging on.  Also, the night before last I wet the bed. I couldn't believe it!  I got up changed the sheets, went back to bed and it happened again.  I am a 49 year old woman and I also have diabetes (which I've had for 2years now.) I have never wet the bed, not even as a young child.  I don't know what's going on.  I know it's not a urinary tract infection, because I've had several of those and know how it feel when I get them.  I've also been taking Prestiq for depression and anxiety.  Anyone have this happen to them?

Any ideas???

Hi Waterbaby and welcome to the forum. I was put on Lyrica 2x, first time it did nothing, but it was very small dose. The second time the dose was increased and I had the most horrible headaches. I usually have headaches, like a clenching pain/pull in my left temple. My pcp says it is Trigeminal Neuralgia. My ortho dr gave me the med at increased dose and this pain hit about every 10 min. I asked if the med could be causing the headache to increase, he really didn't know, but didn't think so. I found out it does cause headaches. I stopped the med. I didn't have the reaction of bedwetting, so I can't help you on that. But I would suggest you talk to your dr and also look it up to see if it is a side effect. I don't think all drs check the warning sheets that come w/ the meds. Maybe you could speak w/ the pharmacist, s/he may have some insight for you. Good luck.

Hi.  If you go to rxlist.com and look up Lyrica, you will find that both headaches and urinary incontinence are both potential side effects of the medication. 

 

I too tried Lyrica, but was unable to tolerate some of the side-effects.

I could not tolerate it either. I retained sooo much fluid, I blew up like a balloon and my lungs began to fill. It also gave me a bronchial cough. Nasty stuff.

I always feel so terrible reading about Lyrica. I take it. 250mg 2x/day... I have taken it since last Nov. I had the side-effects, but I just put all of that aside... But, I always feel bad because you guys always seem to have a problem with it and I hate that it helped me and not you guys. HOWEVER, it has stopped helping me now...but still..

For the headaches, if i EVER miss a dose of mine, I get a horrible headache and feel sick. I cant sleep and feel very VERY hot and dizzy and such. I ALWAYS know when I have forgotten to take it. Sometimes it goes away, but I usually take my medicine and feel better later. If thats not the problem then its food. I think I get low blood sugar...because sometimes I can get a headache and they are usually specific so I can eat a sweet and feel better almost immediately. I also get a third headache..I call it the "whatever headache" because I havent figured out what its from..so I assume its from whatever is going on inside my head!

But, I would ask about it if it concerns you. Hope this helps some!

Also, this is something that I have NEVER told anyone, other than my parents, etc. But, I would od something immediately about the bedwetting. I know from experience how much it stinks... I will NEVER admit it, but I wet the bed until I was about 12 or 13... I had to teach myself not to drink about 4 or so hours before going to bed...eventually I grew out of it. But, I hated it and I never got to do anything, spend the night with friends or anything. And now Im still scared to go places, even though its been like 5 years. So, I would do something about it NOW...because I know its not something you want to experience.

(P.S. Dont tell anyone! haha)
