LCD Computer Screen/ T.V. Problems

Does anyone else have problems with LCD screens (either computer or t.v.)?  I can't use either one without getting burning eyes and a bad headache after only a few minutes.

 

I "Googled" the problem, and there seem to be quite a few people who can't handle the brightness of these devices.  I'm wondering if our sensory sensitivity as fibromites makes us more prone to this issue.

I am familiar with that problem. sad   Sometimes I wonder if this is what triggers my headaches.  A lot of times, I can't even look at the screen without getting dizzy or seeing bright spots.  But, maybe I'm just reading too much into everything.  It could happen. wink

I think you can lower the brightness on both TV and computer screens.  You may have them set at the highest brightness.

Thanks Sherrine.  I've tried that, but even when I have it at the darkest setting (where I can still see), I can only look at it for a few minutes. 

I don't have the same problem with tube t.v.'s or CRT computer monitors.  Just another one of those things that makes me feel crazy.  lol

I'm very much a - turn the brightness down - kind of girl. Even with the lighting in my house I tend to keep only a small table lamp on or nothing at all. When leaving the house I just leave the hood light on over the stove top so that I have enough light to not trip over a cat. Otherwise, I dump all unnecessary light.

I have been having the same eye problem for several months. I am on a computer ALOT for work. I went to the eye doctor and got glasses for Farsightedness. My mom (also a Fibro family member) mentioned that her doctor told her that Fibro does have an effect on the eyes.....but it varies. She can go days without her glasses and other times she needs them very much.

The headaches and eye strain are annoying. I am trying glasses for the first time in my life ( I added the anti-glare lens). I will let you know how it works out.
