had a great time trick or treating!

Just wanted to let you guys know that besides falling the other day and being in bad shape I went out trick or treating with my daughter and grandkids.  It had rained all day and I was dreading taking the kids out in that as you all know you get wet and are cold and that means more pain.  But,the weather cleared and the rain went away leaving this spooky misty fog all over which the kids thought was kewl lol.  I had the older 2 kids dropped off early at my house so I got to spend the whole afternoon with them coloring and playing and then Barb came later on the bus and then we went out.

 

Jakob who is 8 was spiderman but he said the kids at school laughed at his costume so Jay told him next year he can spend the night before halloween with us and Jay will make him up as something scarey.  Supposedly the kids arent supposed to wear anything scarey to school but all the kids still do and dont get in trouble so next year Jake will either be a zombie or frankenstien. Lauren who is 6 went as a gothic cheerleader which I thought was a lil too old for her.  Danielle who is 5 went as Dorthey from the Wizard of Oz and lil tiny Kirsten who just turned 3 but is still the size of a 1 yr old from being a very early premmie was a Bumble Bee which Barb made her whole costume including a lil cap with bug feelers made of sparkly pipe cleaners and lil yellow ribbons then she sewed lil yellow stripes on a black long sleeved shirt and made her a black and yellow tu tu then black and yellow striped tights and lil black shoes with yellow bows with tiny lil bee's on them. 

 

Omg they all looked so cute and were all so excited.  Before we went out we were over at my moms and Lauren gave out candy to other kids.  My mom was even in a great mood because where she lived before they never got trick or treaters so she had her lil pumpkin lit up that I carved for her and a big bowl of candy and she got lots of kids which made her happy.  We brought the kids over to my house last and Jay gave them tons of candy and Barb took pictures with them on the porch with all the decorations and a huge pumpkin.  I was hurting pretty bad by the time I got home at 9pm but didnt care cause I was so happy to get to share the holiday with a great bunch of kids.  I hope everyone else had a good halloween too.  So what did everyone else do for halloween?

Sounds like fun. . . We had a great time last night too, with about 20 guests showing up to our Halloween/Birthday/Anniversary party. . . lol, it has become as much fun as Christmas since I've been married :) Supposed to have a few family and friends out tonight that couldn't make it last night, so we'll have another good night. . . I had to lay down for awhile last night to relax, and will be "chilling" today to be relaxed for tonight (which makes me want to post a thread:) lol

I'm glad you felt OK enough to go out with the kids.  My parents don't hand out candy anymore (my mom worked Halloween PM and my dad hates children-and he has to get up early).   So, I handed out candy until my dad came home-about 8ish.  There must have been at least 300-400 kids (the neighborhood is popular).  I decided to dress up as a short, fat girl with fibro.  The costume wasn't too hard to make.

Karen, I'm so glad you were feeling well enough to go.  It sounds like you had a great time!

 

My daughter is too old for trick-or-treating, so we sat out in the driveway and handed out candy.  It was so much fun watching all of the kids.  I really cherish those fun moments when my mind is totally and completely engaged in something other than pain!!

 

BTW Kelly, I think you and I must have had on the same costume!
