Hello!

I am a new fibro patient and wanted to begin posting here. The kind people on the lupus forum have been so wonderful and supportive, and I hope to find, as well as provide, that same support here. I had posted a time or two on the lupus forum, thinking i was going to be diagnosed with lupus, but I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and thought that was incorrect. I didn't know that there were so many problems that went along with fibromyalgia, so i thought something else must be wrong with me. I am now reading a book on fibro and cfs and have learned that almost all of my complaints can be attributed to fibro.

All I can say is: It sucks!

Welcome, I am glad you have found us.  Fibro has so many symptoms that it is unbelievable they all come from the same illness.  I had to do alot of reading & studying before I really understood it.  I dx'd myself with Fibro in 2003 but got my official dx in 2004.  My ME/CFS was dx'd just lately but I didn't believe it, I thought I had polymyocytis.  eyes   But after reading up on ME/CFS I realized she was right.  One for me & one for her. LOL!!  I hope you find all the support you need here, I am sure you will.  I look forward to see you here.  Many hugs, Denise

Yes, Fibro does suck! I still have a symptom pop up & when I bring it to the attention of my Rheumatologist he says it's just from the Fibro. I still can't believe all the symptoms of Fibro! I have studied it online quite a bit and notice most of my symptoms are listed.

I hope you enjoy the forum. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. I was lucky the day I found this place. I really needed someone who understood and I was so down. Coming here helped me to understand more and I made so many friends. I know you will too. Feel free to ask a question anytime or just jump in anywhere.

Just when you think you know all your fibro symptoms another weird unexplainable pain will surface.  You will be glad you joined it is a really friendly forum and always ready to help even if its just a sympathetic ear. welcome..    sue2z :-) :-)

it's amazing how many symptoms come with this dd, isn't it? i'm always having new things pop up and every time i think "wait a minute-this has to be something else!" and every time it turns out to be just another fibro symptom. eyes

even though you are so right-fibro really sucks!!!-i am still glad you found us:-)

This is a wonderful forum.  I'm new here too. 

Yes... Fibro SUX!!  I've been dealing with it for at least 10 years, after being treated for my 4th bout of Lyme Disease the Lyme, a spinal tap determined the Lyme was no longer in my system, but the symptoms remained (1998).  Now I'm in the process of getting an "official" dx of Fibro, with a new Dr.  I think I've had Fibro for most of my adult life.  Seems everyday is a new adventure in the world of Fibro.

Hi Dirtyflowergirl and welcome to the family. If you read the fibro 101 thread, second on first page, it list the symptoms of fibro along with many other helpful things. The only thing I knew about fibro when I was dxd was it caused a few aches and pains. I've been dxd for five years and had symptoms for 10 years and still getting new symptoms. I'm not sure you can ever say, "I've had it all now".

 

I'm glad you don't have lupus. There are worse things than fibro and CFS. I know somedays it's hard to imagine that.

Hi, I am new here. Have had Fibro diagnosed for 16 yr., but think I've had it since childhood. Now 56. I am miserable! I'm not real computer literate, husbands, and I forgot my login info, took me 45 min. to get this far. Its been a great month so far. Anyone understand this? Thanks for being there if anyone is there. Lucy

You are so right in your description of fibro...it really just stinks,it's a pain in the caboose, it's life altering, rotten, unfair, you name it...but at least we have each other...lol

Hi Dirtyflower!!! Cute name=] lol It is soo nice to meet you and that you have found this forum!

Unlike you, I actually had a hunch that I had Fibro even before I was dx'd in December with it... so I accepted it right away. It just made sense, and still does to me. However, my rhuemy has been putting me through craziness lately, suggesting I might also have MS or Lupus(only because of a couple diff symptoms I was experiencing, how crazy is that!)... but I've been told that she herself doesn't seem to even know too much about Fibro (not too many people do but I obviously expecter her to!!!!!!!)....

And I agree with Chutz, this condition is rotten and unfair and life altering, to the maximum!!!!!! But you will have us if you stick around ;]

While I'm sad that so many of us are suffering with fibro, I'm glad to have found others who will understand and support me through my struggle.
