I awoke this morning to just a small amount of new fallen snow...so pretty, all white and fluffy, and then I find out, we are getting throughout today and tomorrow over 8 inches of this stuff! And then, the temps are expected to plunge to minus 10 wind chill. What???? I know Marlee is just south of me...are you getting this too? From what I've read, my neighborhood - northeast northern Illinois, just west of Lake Michigan is expected to get the brunt of it...well, at least my dogs will enjoy it... I want sunshine and warm weather smhair

Lol yes, I want warm weather as well!! I can't wait for April and May (especially since May's my birthday month - yay!!!) We are supposed to be getting snow also I believe in eastern Pennsylvania. I had plans to go to my cousin's house this weekend with my husband too, which is about an hour and a half away from my house (they usually get hit worse than us) but those plans might've been blown sad

I can surely sympathize with you. I live in Michigan and we have had a lot of snow and cold this year. Record breaking amounts. I have recently heard that we are going to have an early spring. We deserve it. It has been a long winter already and I am getting cabin fever.

Best wishes, I hope that the dogs enjoy the snow anyway.

Karen -- We're going to have an early Spring? God, I hope so. I am not looking forward to the snow they say we are going to be getting. There was a little this morning, but I keep hearing more and more inches as the day goes on.

Stupid cold.

Stupid snow.

Stupid winter.

Stupid Michigan.

Stupid Fibro.
(I know we haven't even mentioned Fibro in this thread, but it's still stupid) lol

I truly understand how you feel. This has been a STUPID winter. We have a ton of snow now. I also hear that it is going to be cold next week. But not as bad as we originally thought. I am hoping that the rumor of an early spring is true. We deserve a break.

I thought last winter was long, this one started way early.

I agree with all of you ladies...wayyyy to long of a winter that started wayyyy too early and yes, the dogs LOVE the snow! You should see how adorable they look when they come in, with snow all over their noses!!! That's about the only good thing about winter, LOL

My dog loves the snow too. She will drive you nuts until you throw snow in her face. She loves the winter.

Miriam, all we got was sheet of ice last night. It's spitting a little snow but really nothing. I think you being near the lake makes it worse. Margie is about an hour from me, don't know what they got.

 

I'm sorry to be mean sweetie but please keep it up there. devil I know we are going to have low temps this coming week.

Hey Marlee, wish I had some control over it! I certainly wouldn't send it your way...more than likely, it will continue westward, over the lake and into Michigan...that's the usual pattern anyway. It hasn't stopped snowing since yesterday, we have close to 12" of the white stuff and it is fairly good packing...time to make a snowman or bury one of my dogs? Well, not really bury them. One of the two Golden Retrievers we have, Benji, will stand and wait for my DH to shovel up some snow, and then run into the pile of snow he makes from the shovel, so now my DH shovels some snow and throws it at Benji and he just jumps up as high as he can and opens his mouth and just grins this big sh** eating grin! I have to get it on video...so funny!! Also, they take their long snouts and use them as shovels, just running through the snow, "plowing" it and when they pick up their heads, their faces are just full of snow. I think they are my salvation in this !! Only 2 more months until spring!!!

I don't like winter, I don't like snow, I don't like cold. I want warmth, I want to stop shaking from the cold. When my DH was in the hospital for a wk. I had to park quite a distance from the hospital, I couldn't afford to pay for the parking at the hospital. I had to carry bags w/ his 'stuff' to and fro, papers w/ his info b/c I didn't have use of my phone to just call the drs. to get info. I had to go up and down several hills to get into the hospital, on my cane. The weather was so cold, windy, just downright bitter, then it rained. Uggg.

We have only had flurries so far today, they are promising snow later, but nothing like you poor folks are getting hit with. I'm so sorry for all you are going thru. I took my soon to be 12 yr old 'Evil Puppy' out this morning, into the flurries. My old baby used to run out into the snow and almost dance, today I opened the door (trying to walk on my quad cane) to take Trevor out, he started backing up. I don't blame him, I didn't want to go out either. But my precious isn't toilet trained lol.

I am praying we all stay safe and warm. All my warmest wishes are w/ you.

Hi all, OK, I want an honest answer:  Do you think it is too early for a Spring thaw?  I don't think so & who decides these things anyway?  I could use a good long Spring, I don't see why it has to wait until March.  Is there some place I can vote on this?  No really, give your honest opinion.  I live in NW Montana about as close to the Canadian border to say "Aye" & do it naturally.  I hope you all have a good day.  Hugs, Denise

We got about a foot of snow here in NE IN.  I, too, had plans for today that were cancelled. sad

I vote for an early Spring.  But the only good thing about winter is the allergies are under control.  Other than that.. I've had it with winter!!
