Hi. I wasn't taking anything for pain except OTC tylenol, occasional advil, and amyltriptilene at bed time, until
2002 when I was hit in a crosswalk by a truck. Tylenol 3 is what I am given now, although in the past I've been given various pain meds along with a muscle relaxer making it possible to get out of bed and begin to move about, and valium, for sleep. The Tyno 3's make a hugh difference, in my quality of life. I don't know if I could go without. Even more surprizingly, a small dose of valium, over a period of a month or so, put me in great shape, although it was prescribed for another disorder. Unfortunately, I ran out and had a week without. Following that, I am in the worse possible flare, chest pain to die from, all muscles ache, I cannot get much of anything done. Dropping and spilling everything. Everything hurts. If there was a meter we could wear for several months, while they tried different meds, something that could be calibrated to measure pain responses in the brain, I would have gone from a two, three, two weeks ago to a eight or nine, now, painwise. Also I must add there has been an incredibly stressful event taking place in my life, and we all know about Stress and Fibro. Good luck.
