mostly in arms and legs

so bad i can't stand it

Starbrite, I know I know, I feel for you... I've been going through a flare now for a bit and it is an AWFUL one. The pain is unbearable! Especially in my arms and elbows. I'm sorry you have to go through this too.. has it just been going on today, or longer??

Try and take a nice bath and relax relax relax!! I have been trying to keep all the stress out of my mind and just relax... it DOES help! TAKE CARE!

Nothing helps. Tried all th otc pain meds.

Can't take a bath because of abuse  during childhood it terrifies me to be in the tub.

my arm pain seems to start at the elbows and the knees

sorry about the first post i was feeling sorry for myself just so tired of fighting pain

Starbrite, I hate it that you have this horrible bathtub memory, it just makes the pain that much worse.

I sure hope you find a way to relax and maybe it is writing us as we all share so much!!!!

So sorry you are in so much pain. It is so hard to relax when we hurt so bad. Maybe try a heating pad and if you can maybe sit on your bed with a pillow under your legs so that your knees are up higher. It sounds kind of stupid, but it did help me one night when I thought there was nothing else I could try.

Before I got meds from my Rheumy, I used to buy the hot creams like ben-gay and aspercreme to rub into my sore spots. It was better than nothing and sometimes helped me enough so that I could fall asleep.

Oh Starbright,

I understand fears due to childhood abuse. YOu will have to find ways to relax or the pain may never cease. Can you find a local pool where you can take shallow water classes or would that too remind you of a bathtub?

I have found that Margie's suggestion of using the pillow under my knees at night helps a lot. It makes sleeping much easier on your back, shoulders, legs and arms.

I would like to suggest you call a local Domestic Violence hotline and ask if there are support groups that you can attend. I think a childhood of abuse should qualify you for their free services. Please do not do this alone. You need support so that you can feel better.
