ONE SIDED PAIN

I have had fibro for about 25 years or so, but did not get a name for it until about 3 years ago. A doctor told me years ago that I had a rare form of muscle arthritis, but now I know that it was fibro.  He just didn't know the name.  Anyway, my question is this.  Most of my pain is on one side.  I have pain on both sides, but it is alot worse on my left side. I have to be in a very bad flare for it to be bad on the other side. Is this normal?  I have the tender points on both sides, just not the bad pain. Is this common or is my whole body confused and in a brain fog   The only pain that hurts bad on both sides at the same time is the TMJ headaches that I have and they hurt all over.

My response is the same as Sherrine's.  I also have more pain on one side due to Scoliosis. The side (right) which hurts more is also afflicted with piriformis syndrome and sacroiliitis (due to the Scoliosis and 2 back surgeries).  When one of those problems acts up, my whole hip, leg, back, foot, shoulder, etc. will spasm. I have pain on my left side too, but much more on the right.

All of my pains seem to be more localized on the left side as well. I hurt on the right too, but the left side is always worse. The trigger points are all the same tho...go figure????

all my pain is on my right side, sometimes it like to switch to my left but mainly its on my right in my hip, ribs,and back. it's just a fibro thing. although i have numbness in both legs. its just a wonderful fibro thing.

Most of my fibro pain is on my left side. My endometriosis pain is on my right side.

Donna, sometimes at local health fairs you can find a chiropractor doing free health screenings. They may be able to tell you if you have any curvature. It's not as accurate as having x-rays and a real diagnosis but if money is an issue, it can give you an idea. If they see a noticeable curvature, then you can discuss a more accurate screening with your doc.

We had a physical therapist come to one of our fibro meetings and she was able to tell just by how I was sitting that my right hip was higher and I had a very slight twist in my lower spine. I already knew this from x-rays taken years ago but I was surprised how she was able to tell so easily.
