Dry Socket taking forever to heal and so painful

Anyone know if fibro has anything to do with why my dry socket (from a molar extraction) in the back of my mouth is taking forever to heal? It's extremely painful. I had my tooth removed on Feb 10 so as of today that is

16 days and it is killing me. Ive been back to the Dr's 2X's each time they give me a horrible tasting paste that I have to put in the socket itself. I'm now taking my percocet for my mouth and jaw not because of a flare.

 

Any feed back on this?? confused

You might want to contact your regular Dr. Are you taking any antibiotics. there may be an infection..I had a root canal and it was painful for along time I made the mistake of telling dentist I have Fibro He kept blaming the pain on that well I developed a secondary infection and had to back on antibiotics.. Good luck I hate any kind of mouth issues.. They can make you feel icky all over

A dry socket is painful. I had one.

Call the doctor again for more pain meds. I feel for you.

Monica, I agree with both donnaeil & LeeAnn call your Dr, not the dentist & get antibiotics & pain meds.  I hope you get this under control.  Dry socket can be just horrid.  I feel for you.  Hugs, Denise

Hi Monica and don't envy you a bit! I had 2 dry sockets after I had my wisdom teeth out in my 20's and it was awful! And the medication they used back then was Witch Hazel- not sure if that is what they still use, but it was the worst stuff I have ever tasted! Not sure if you smoke, but they told me it was a guarantee I would get dry sockets if I did and they were right. I know I had to deal with them for a couple weeks or more but I would put a call into your Dr. like what was mentioned and let his nurse know what has been going on.

My Rhemy went home sick today so I talked to the lady and the front desk and I told her

that I wanted to make my doctor aware of what was going on and she was saying that the

doctor wasn't going to give me any more pain medication for it. I was like look, I'm not calling asking for pain medication besides, I had to sign something from my Rhemy saying I wouldn't get prescription meds from anyone else and I have a good supply, I'm just calling to let her know. Then she was like, oh, okay..... nono
