I haven't been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but in reading the symptoms I really think I have this.  I have had chronic headaches for a year, I ache all over and when my husband rubs my back it hurts so bad in my lover back at the top of my butt I could go through the ceiling.  My legs are sore and swell and when my 5 year old climbs on me and pushes down I am in severe pain.  I am just recently diagnosed with PCOS.

Should I see a rheumatologist?

Welcome to the forum!!  We are a lively group.. even though we have to do it slowly :-)

Forgive me for not knowing but what's PCOS???

If you can get to a rheumy.. go for it.  They seem to have a good concept of what Fibro's all about.  I don't see one, but fortunately my general physician is wonderful.  They will have to perform some tests to rule out other nasty illnesses that mimic fibro.  So you might not get an immediate diagnosis.

I'm sorry its painful for you to have your little one climb on you.. many of us know what you're going through with that. 

Please be sure to read the second thread on the forum called Fibro 101.  Its full of very useful information that has helped me and hundreds of others that have come to this site. Please continue to post and feel free to ask questions, everyone here is VERY helpful and so supportive.

I hope and pray you don't have fibro, but if you do, you've come to the right place to learn.

Hi Patty.  Thanks for the welcome.  I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  I will definitely read Fibro 101

Oh!! OK!! Duh!! I should have known that one!!  I have a friend that has that.

Also be sure to check out Sherrine's post.. "Welcome New Members" she put it up just for you & a couple of other newbees.  Sherrine is one of our WONDERFUL Moderaters.  The "Mods" are VERY knowlegable and love to help any way that they can.  Sherrine's had fibro for a long time and has lots of hints that can make a big difference in dealing with Fibro.

Hi JenVi,

You have already gotten some good advice, check out fibro101, there is so much good information on that.

I hope that you can get a diagnosis soon, it is hard when we don't know what is wrong with us. And it can be very frustrating. I would recommend talking to your doctor about it and then going from there.

Hi JenV & welcome.  I was dx'd by a Rheumatologist.  As said they seem to know the most.  I hope you get your dx soon.  It is hard to live in limbo & seems to make it worse.  Once you know you can become proactive in your care.  We are all so different & require different meds or suppliments to help us.  It is nice to meet you.  Hugs, Denise
