just wanted to coplain about movie theatre food

I just have to state this fact somewhere. I sneak food into theaters because they have zilch I can enjoy. I can't touch popcorn, sugar, chocolate. When will these places give into some healthy options? I just needed a quick vent, hehe. off to stuff nuts and dried fruit into my purse.

After paying $10.00 to get in (times 4) there's no money left to buy the overpriced food anyway!

Take your own! I quite often have a bag of dried fruit and nuts in my bag. Beats paying £5 for a bag of stale popcorn

LOL... I haven't been to a movie theater in about 12 years. I wait till they come out on DVD and watch them at home. So, I can eat and drink whatever I want. Sitting in those movie theater chairs kills my back and hips AND the volume gives me a major headache.
That's my method of saving big $$ and having MY WAY!!!

I agree the seats are lousy but I am trying to remain somewhat social. All I do is fuss and squirm when I sit there. Drives my friends batty. I am a huge horror film fan and they are far better at the movies then at home for me.

We like to go to movies cause it gets us out and it's a low energy thing I can do. It's not just the movies - but I often put some nuts in a baggy and put them in my pocket wne we're going to be out. Think my blood sugar can get low if I get too hungry.

We have a few "second run" theaters that only charge $1.00 on Tuesdays. We can all go for less than $10.00 any other day, even on the weekends. The downside is that you have to wait a few months for the blockbuster movies. They hit these theaters right before they come out on DVD. Sometimes they are still playing in the theater after they come out on DVD.

Despite the price, we are still going to see Watchmen this weekend at the expensive theater and I'm splurging on popcorn.

I rarely go to the movies, but when I do it's for my Kelly, my five year old granddaughter, so I splurge on the popcorn, candy and drinks. I split the tickets and the food with my daughter WHO STILL WORKS! HAHAHAHA! I couldn't afford paying for both!!! I don't know, there is something about movie theatre popcorn.

But I have been known to sneak in food, even drinks, into movie theatres. With kids, you have to make ends meet somehow.

My daughter came home from a visit with her grandmother and told me I need to get a big purse like her. She made popcorn before going to movie and put it in individual zip lock bags. each grand child got a water bottle and a candy bar My mom carried it all in her purse 5 grandkids. That purse must have weighed a ton.
