Hi KitKat,
I too have foot and leg pain. and the feet are getting worse. I have found some inserts for my sneakers that help some. I also have found a lady who is good with reflexology and she did my feet last week and they felt a bit better. So I am going again today, I feel if I am going to do massage things, I need to have something each week. The massages are more xpensive, so I will only do that once a month. I was also reading up on tanning beds, I was told to try that, but there are some tanning beds with certain rays especially for fibro and arthritis.
I feel for you also. Somedays I think is this really a disease or condition or is it a name they give for what they don't know I have. Frustrating. I can't seem to find a doctor either who knows how to deal with fibro. I also have spots on my arms and thighs that I keep asking the doctors what they are, I was told they are freckles. They aren't freckles, they appear and are crusty on top and then start getting light brown, but the crusty part stays. One of them said age spots. well I know my mother had age spots and they were smooth. The rheumie said I should go see the dermatologist, well if he knows about fibro, shouldn't he know about the spots? Just frustrating the doctors around here don't know what they are doing. even spacialists.
You have to be your own advocate and read up on things and document what you take that does help. I was put on cymbalta and it does nothing for me. The rheumie wanted to put me on a higher dose, I said no.
I do hope you get some help. Don't be afraid to ask people, or nurses or any one else if they know of a doctor who deals well with fibro. Nurses may have insight more then a another doctor.
take care
Deb
