I am graduating tomorrow with my master's degree! I am walking in graduation and am nearly done writing the thesis. I am really excited about having gotten this done with fibro and everything. It was tough. Yay!!!!

We are SO very proud of you!!! What an amazing task and you did it!!! I had considered doing a masters but once doc said no more work it does seem pointless now, but I understand how much enjoyment you can get from learning. I will never stop being a student or a teacher, for that matter.

Congrats to our newest Master!! Ms. Master Statgeek!! (would love to see that on the diploma)lol

Smiling, Do you want to go back to school? Starting slow is a good way to do it. My first three classes at the jr. college were pretty easy. I took 3 at a time to begin with.

My degree is in psychology - it is a non terminal master's degree in clinical psychology - non terminal means I did not earn the degree (mft or lcsw) to practice therapy. I still need to do a phd program. I only applied to 3 phd programs because I am not mobile as I am 44 years old and hubby has a job for 20 years he does not want to leave. I was not accepted this time around. The plan is to volunteer at uc davis lab next year and apply again. Grad school is a lot of work and I am sure had a lot to do with my big increase in fibro problems. This year "off" will be helpful. I will learn how to pace myself better.

See, I thought is was non terminal because it didn't kill you to get it.

Enjoy your year off. I keep thinking about going back to school, then my fibrofog flares up and scares me off. One day I can help my son with his honor's pre-calculus class and the next day, I have trouble doing 5th grade math.

I haven't been around in a few days, so I missed this...Just had to pop in and say-WOO HOO!!!! Way to GO, lady! You are an awesome inspirational light to those of us who are also working towards to degrees while living with fibro.

Congratulations. I can attest to how difficult it is getting a degree while enjoying FM. You should definately be very proud of what you have accomplished. An education is something noone can take away and will help you greatly in life.
