long month or so

hi there everyone,

 I have had a really long and bad month lately first i went for a hernia repair and was put on alot of restrictions such as no lifting,bending,reaching and no work and no driving that was ok because i knew about it and had time to plan a little bit for it. I was 2 weeks post-op and i descovered a lump on the middle right side of my abdomen and my incision i had for the hernia repair broke open and alot of fluid and stuff came out so i went to the doctor. He said the fluid coming out was normal and it would heal on its own but was very concerned with the lump so he ordered a cat scan. When the scan came back he said it looked like i somehow had gotten another hernia and since i was already out of work and stuff and it was causing me so much pain that he would do another repair asap and put me on dialodid for the pain of it.(the pain from this was worse than the pain from my first surgery). So that next week i went in again for surgery and when he went in to fix the hernia he found that there wasnt one and what it was is a huge sack of infection from a staple that he believes a doctor used on me 2 years ago when i had surgery then and it was attached to my intestine and was causing a big infection i feel lucky that it didnt break inside of me cause that could have been really bad. My problem now is that my hands and arms are doing alot of jumping and twitching or tremoring whichever you would call it.I dont know if it a fibro related thing or if its because im slowly stopping the dialodid that i was on for about 2 weeks...Im also really nervous and have anxiety lately and when they woke me up after the last surgery i freaked out on them and was so scared but i dont know where this fear is coming from all of a sudden also my incision is still draining so i cant take a shower and i reel like a grub lol i guess im just wondering if anyone has been thru anything like this and has any advice for me it would be appreciated ...thanks alot for letting me vent lol ~papasgirl

Many years ago I had minor abdominal surgery and did get an infected stitch and it drained...just like you mentioned.  It did close up and heal.

If they used mesh for your surgery, I'd certainly check into that.  Many people have problems with the mesh and it causes pain and other things.  There could be some nerve involvement that is causing the hand and arm jumping.  And maybe it is the medication, too.  I could be wrong.  I am not a doctor.  But, if I were having these problems, I'd start asking questions.

 I know how your mom was feeling i gave them a really hard time when they woke me up this last time i was trying to climb out of bed and everything was such a blur that it freaked me out and then i started to hyperventilate s/p and i remember the woman going u need to calm down dont u remember me we used to work together upstairs and i said yes but i cant see you then i started crying uncontrollably and they ended up having to give me verset and get my hubby in there to get me calmed down then i grabbed him so hard at one point he asked if i would let go cause i was hurting him lol.... since ive been home ive asked him about it and he said i didnt say why but that i was just really scared of everything going on... the nightmares are so real that the other night i had one and in it my kids ran away and i couldnt find them and when i woke up i felt like i should be giving them hell for running off on me hehehehe that would have been a shocker for them... thanks tho for awnsering my post u made me feel a little better and that im not the only one that has gone thru this and hopefully that means im not really going crazy lol have a great night and thanks again    ~papasgirl
