Well, I found a new doctor and I am SOOOO happy! Went to see him yesterday. He is an internist/rheumatologist...board certified in both and practicing both. He also told me he can manage my hypothyroidism, so I can get rid of my endocrinologist. Three docs in one! I sure hope I'm not kidding myself about
this guy. He seems like the real deal. He's in practice by himself. I am coming from a HUGE practice of rheumys and orthpedic surgeons. I was really unhappy with the last guy I was going to, after my rheumy retired from the same practice. I really felt he didn't believe in FM; I had to walk away from him.
In any case, this guy wants to change meds around and I'm wondering if anyone can give me their personal experience with anti inflammatories? He wants to put me on Relafen. I am currently taking Vicoprofen. He claims it doesn't have enough NSAID. So, he wants me to switch to Vicodin ES, and then add Relafen 750, twice a day. I read side effects on the drug and it scared me. Anyone using it?
He is also talking about weaning me off of Prozac and going on Celexa. We also discussed Savella and Lyrica.
In addition, he sent me for an xray of my lower back, because of significant changes seen on an MRI from last year. This is something my previous rheumy didn't even discuss with me.
Ok, now i'm off the subject...just wondering if anyone can give me any input...
thanks so much'
Miriam
