I developed Meniere's disease about a month after I had a serious upper resp. infection that went to my sinuses and ears. It took me about a year (and several doctors) to finally get diagnosed.
Your problems could resolve on their own, of course, but if they don't, an ENT would be a good place to start.
I have episodes of vertigo, ringing in my ears, "fullness" (it sometimes seems like someone puts their hand over my ear) and some hearing loss. I also have residual balance problems. I'm extremely sensitive to visual stimuli, loud noises, or quick changes in head position (looking up, for example). I've learned some coping skills to manage a lot of the balance/visual problems. I'm really careful about how I move, what I look at, etc.
My ENT initially had me on benadryl, valium, and a diuretic. Benadryl and valium are both inner ear stabilizers. For a while, I was taking a small dose of both at night; now I just take them as needed. I no longer take the diuretic because it was making me feel horrible.
If your symptoms continue, it probably is worth seeing your doctor because there really are treatments that can help, from medications to vestibular therapy.
I hope you feel better soon. I know how completely miserable it can be to feel that way.
