Can Tylenol and ibuprofen be taken together?

I had to stop taking the generic Voltaren because of side effects and have only been taking arthritis strength Tylenol.  I t is not working.  I have had lots of pain.  Before I was dx'd I had to stop taking ibuprofen because of bruising, but I was taking a lot of it at the time.  I wondered if taking an occasional ibuprofen would help.  I think the pain is my arthritis along with the fibro.  I really do not want to take anything like narcotics if I can help it.  Just wondered if taking the 2 together would be a problem.  I see my doctor next month, but am miserable now.  Trying all of the usual--bed buddy, hot bath, etc.

Some of the older OTC pain meds like percogesic and even Pamprin used to be a mixture of Tylenol and aspirin...and caffeine.  I have taken Tylenol and Advil together but now I stagger them...every couple of hours.  Advil is murder on my stomach and I try to avoid it but sometimes I'd rather have the burning throat than the pain!

Yes, Tylenol and Ibuprofen are fine as far as I know. I think it's just bad if you take too many NSAIDs together ... like Meloxicam and Ibuprofen. You can always swing by Rite-Aid and ask pharmacist.
